10th IEEE Workshop on Software Technologies for Future Embedded and Ubiquitous Systems Conference (SEUS 2014)
June 08--09, 2014 Reno, Nevada, USA official website: http://ppgca.dainf.ct.utfpr.edu.br/seus2014 facebook: https://www.facebook.com/seus2014/ ----------------- Important Dates ----------------- - Paper Submissions: March 16th, 2014 - Notification of acceptance: April 04th, 2014 - Camera-ready manuscript due: April 13th, 2014 - Workshop Dates: June 08--09, 2014 ----------------- Call for Papers ----------------- The fields of both embedded computing and ubiquitous systems have seen considerable growth over the past few years. Given the advances in these fields, and also those in the areas of distributed computing, sensor networks, middleware, etc., the area of ubiquitous embedded computing is now being envisioned as the way of the future. The systems and technologies that will arise in support of ubiquitous embedded computing will undoubtedly need to arise a variety of issues, including dependability, real-time, human-computer interaction, autonomy, resource constraints, etc. All of these requirements pose a challenge to the research community. SEUS 2014 will be a forum where researchers and practitioners with substantial experiences and interests in advancing the state-of-the-art and the state-of-practice in the field of embedded and ubiquitous computing systems gather with the goal of fostering new ideas, collaborations, and technologies. We invite contributions that present advances in integrating the fields of embedded computing and ubiquitous systems. Industrial applications in the field are also encouraged. Papers can be of conceptual, theoretical, application-oriented, standards-driving, innovative design or experimental nature, and should represent technological or scientific advances. The main goal is to bring together researchers from all over the world, to foster a stimulating and fruitful exchange amongst people working on similar topics, to discuss ideas, exchange field experiences and to find solutions together to the problems facing software and hardware technologies for embedded and ubiquitous systems. ----------------- Topics ----------------- Suggested topics of interest include (but are not restricted to) the following: - Applications, Components, Services - Programming Languages, Models and Tools - Model Based Engineering, Model Driven Engineering - Requirement Specification and Methodologies - Middleware and Operating Systems - Software Architectures and Software Engineering - Communication Networks - Wireless Sensor Networks and Mobile Ad Hoc Networks - Smart Phones, Smart TVs, and Smart Devices - Wearable Computing, Next Generation Computing - Cloud Computing - Social Computing - Computer Architecture - Embedded Systems - Programming Paradigm for Multicores and Manycores ------------------ Paper Submission ------------------ Accepted papers will be published in IEEE proceedings. Papers must be written in English, submitted in PDF format with 8 pages in limit (including all text, figures, references and appendices), and adhering to the IEEE paper format. Submission implies the willingness of the senior author to present his/her paper at the Workshop. IEEE conference paper templates (http://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.html) IMPORTANT NOTE: Authors must upload their manuscripts to the SEUS 2014 submission site that can be reached by the SEUS 2014 homepage. Please do not email your submission to the PC Chairs or to any other address, to avoid your submission being lost. Questions about the appropriateness of a topic for a submission may be directed to the PC Chairs. ----------------- Organizers ----------------- Program Chairs -------------- Marco Aurélio Wehrmeister, Federal University of Technology - Paraná (UTFPR), Brazil – Tales Heimfarth, Federal University of Lavras (UFLA), Brazil – Program Committee ----------------- Achim Rettberg, Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg, Germany Alecio Binotto, IBM Research, Brazil André Schneider de Oliveira, Federal University of Technology - Paraná (UTFPR), Brazil Andreas Gerstlauer, University of Texas Austin, USA Adriano Tavares, University of Minho, Portugal Antônio Carlos Beck Filho, Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Brazil Christos Kartsaklis, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, USA Douglas Renaux, Federal University of Technology - Paraná (UTFPR), Brazil Edison Pignaton de Freitas, Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), Brazil Edna Barros, Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), Brazil Eduardo Tovar, Polytechnic Institute of Porto, Portugal Florian Dittmann, TWT, Germany Franz Rammig, Univesity of Paderborn, Gemany Gian Ricardo Berkenbrock, Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Brazil Heiko Falk, Ulm University, Germany João Fabro, Federal University of Technology - Paraná (UTFPR), Brazil Jorge Sa Silva, Universidade de Coimbra, Portugal Leandro Becker, Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Brazil Marcelo Götz, Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Brazil Márcio Kreutz, Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), Brazil Marco A.
