Call For Papers

The 13th International Conference on Bioinformatics (InCoB 2014) will be held in Novotel Sydney Brighton Beach, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. This year, the InCoB will be held earlier from 31st July to 2nd August 2014 to run back-to-back with the International Biophysics Congress 2014 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, Queensland (3-7 Aug).

The main host is Macquarie University, one of the leading research centres in Australia in the field of Bioinformatics. InCoB2014 will build on the established platform for experts and budding bioinformaticians to discuss and exchange ideas and thoughts on the development of bioinformatics in the Asia Pacific region.

Since 2002, InCoB has grown in its second decade to become one of the largest bioinformatics conferences in the Asia-Pacific region. This annual conference showcases the latest research and technologies in all areas of bioinformatics and now it is attended by practitioners from both biology fields and computing backgrounds in the Asia-Pacific region. Papers in the conference will be published as in the past, in BMC Bioinformatics, BMC Systems Biology and BMC Genomics, as well as in Bioinformation and PeerJ.

The theme for InCoB2014 will be decided at the InCoB 2013 conference in Taicang, Shanghai, PR China in 20-22 September 2013. Key topics will likely to include promoting the integration of bioinformatics, imaging informatics, clinical informatics and health informatics for understanding of complex biological and medical phenomenon. IncoB 2014 will encourage the exchange of scientific breakthrough amongst participants, particularly among local participants in Australia, as this will be the first time in this decade that InCoB is coming to these southern shores. Hot bioinformatics topics on translational bioinformatics, population genetics, drug design and discovery, biomarker identification, systems biology, biological sequence analysis, expression data analysis, scalable data storage and other relevant subjects will be covered.

We encourage enthusiastic bioinformatics researchers to join in our effort to organize InCoB 2014 by volunteering to be

1. Conference Organizers
2. Session Chairs
3. Peer Reviewers
4. Track organizers
5. Workshop Teaching Faculty
6. Organizers of Satellite Meetings in your favourite sub-field of bioinformatics
7. Organizers of social events and activities, given the exciting culture of the city of Sydney!

We certainly look forward to your submission of full papers and posters, suggestion of keynote speakers,

and active participation in registering for the conference when the registration site opens later in the year.

See ya'll in Sydney!
