India HCI community has seen a fast evolving population of young and talented minds through Student Design Consortium (SDC). Every year, it attracts some of the best students’ work in interaction design, learning design, new media, service design and overlapping areas from institutes all over the country. For the professional community, it provides avenues to discover budding professionals, notice fresh perspectives to diverse design problems and to mentor potential candidates. For design students, it gives an unique opportunity to showcase work, get invaluable feedback, and connect with industry participants, researchers, academicians, practitioners and, most importantly with their own peers. It has evolved into a place of networking amongst students across institutions.
We invite currently enrolled students or those graduating in 2016 to submit their best work to India HCI SDC. It could be your thesis project, internship project, a classroom or personal project, or some work done in collaboration with other students. Submissions to SDC can be made as individuals or as groups. Students submitting in groups can belong to more than one institute as well. Entries will be reviewed by an expert panel of designers for novelty, creativity and relevance. Accepted entries will be showcased during the conference and will be listed on India HCI website.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
Those who are currently enrolled as students, and those graduating in year 2016 at undergraduate or master’s level in any discipline (Design, Arts, Sciences, Engineering or Humanities) are eligible to submit to India HCI SDC. A submission may be made by individuals or groups of up to 5 students. Submissions can also be co-authored by students from different universities or institutes as well. Faculty members and professionals mentoring any SDC submission are not eligible as co-authors. They may however be separately acknowledged.
