25FPS is a film journal that is committed to publishing analyses, reports, reviews and features from the fields of film, audiovisual media and new media and is committed to a multicultural, international approach to film and media and we welcome work from scholars, students, critics, artists and practitioners. The editorial board along contributors strives to focus on films and filmmakers overlooked elsewhere, always hoping to offer our readers fresh and original content. We also collaborate with numerous Czech and international film festivals and institutions (Summer Film School Uherské Hradiště, Artcam, Slovak film magazine KINEČKO, www.csfd.cz etc.).
The next issue, which will have a publication date of Winter 2013, will be dedicated to current trend in film and TV production, seriality. 25FPS is looking for articles that examine serilality or episodic storytelling in film/television/new media / transmedia reflecting certain aspects or the concept of seriality, its aesthetics and semiotics and interdisciplinary character of seriality. Proposals are now invited for papers on any aspect of seriality. However, we would also welcome contributions focusing on: - Seriality and episodic storytelling: aesthetics or semiotics conceptions – characters, story arcs, episodes or other symptomatic aspects of seriality etc.) - Seriality and movies : fantasy sagas, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Hobbit, the cinematic version of Marvel universe and its crossovers, ViewAskiew world of Kevin Smith etc.) - Seriality in movies: seriality as a major factor in the structure of a film (for example Se7en, Saw and others) - Paradigm change of series´ distribution and its impact on seriality (Netflix, House of Cards etc.) - Analysis or interpretation of movie, series or audiovisual work treating the subject of seriality or episodic storytelling - Filmmakers making series (Jane Campion, Takashi Miike, David Lynch etc.) - Seriality in videogames (seriality or episodic storytelling in videogames, videogame sagas, seriality as inherent feature of videogames) - Seriality in comics or graphic novels (from comics to TV series... etc.) Potential contributors are invited to submit a proposition to the editor by 20 October 2013 at: kudlac.martin@gmail.com.
