Quality assurance is a critical component at every stage in the
development of a software system, affecting requirements elicitation, architecture and design, and implementation. The quality of the artifacts generated in these stages will significantly influence the rest of the system. Once again, QSIC 2014 will maintain a theme focused on the Engineering of Quality Systems, consisting of three major research domains: * the quality assurance of artifacts generated during software development, such as program code and design documents; * the definition and exploration of quality relationships among different software development phases, such as the impact that the quality of requirements might have on the quality of the derived software architecture; and * finally the investigation of how codification and communication of knowledge affects software quality. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Keynote Speakers ---------------------------------------------------------------- * Professor Way Kuo President, City University of Hong Kong Editor-in-Chief, IEEE Transactions on Reliability Member of US National Academy of Engineering * Dr. Jeff Voas NIST - National Institute of Standards and Technology IEEE Fellow 2014 Gold Medal from the US Secretary of Commerce ---------------------------------------------------------------- Topics of Interest ---------------------------------------------------------------- * Software testing: automation, conformance, strategies, tools, standards, economics, performance and robustness, processes and standards * Software quality: management and assurance, measurement and benchmarking, review, inspection and walkthrough, reliability, safety and security * Methods and tools: design tools, testing tools, information systems engineering, quality tools * Evaluation of software products and components: static and dynamic analysis, validation and verification * Information and knowledge management: economics of software quality, knowledge engineering * Formal methods: program analysis, model checking, model construction, formal process models * Component software and reuse: requirements engineering, software architecture, middleware and application servers, reflective systems * Emerging technology: pervasive computing, service-oriented computing, grid software, cloud computing, intelligent systems * Applications: component-based systems, cyber-physical systems, digital libraries, distributed systems, e-commerce, embedded systems, enterprise applications, information systems, multimedia, Web-based systems, safety critical systems ---------------------------------------------------------------- Paper Submission ---------------------------------------------------------------- All submissions must be in English and the author's original work that has not been published and/or submitted for consideration for publication anywhere else. The papers must be in IEEE Conference Proceedings format with no more than 10 pages for a regular paper and no more than 6 pages for a short paper. Submissions must be in PDF format and uploaded to the conference submission website before the deadline date. Each submission will be reviewed by three PC members. Paper selection is based on the originality, technical contribution, presentation, and relevance to QSIC. Refer to the conference website for detailed guidelines. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Important Dates ---------------------------------------------------------------- *June 1, 2014: Deadline for paper submission* July 20, 2014: Notification to authors August 1, 2014: Deadline for camera-ready versions October 2-3, 2014 QSIC 2014 conference ---------------------------------------------------------------- Conference Proceedings ---------------------------------------------------------------- The conference proceedings will be published by IEEE Computer Society Conference Publishing Services. Papers will also be submitted to the IEEE Xplore database and indexed by all the abstracting and indexing partners (such as the EI Compendex). ---------------------------------------------------------------- Special Journal Issue ---------------------------------------------------------------- Authors of selected papers will be invited to submit an extended version of their articles to a special issue of an international, respected, and SCI-indexed archival journal. ---------------------------------------------------------------- About Dallas ---------------------------------------------------------------- "Big D," as Dallas (the ninth-largest city in US) is called, offers the quintessential Lone Star experience to those who want it -- barbecue and steaks, cowboy boots, and rodeo shows. It has the nation's largest Arts District in Downtown. It is also the home of American Airlines with direct flights to many cities in U.S., Europe, Asia, and Central and South America. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Conference Organizers ---------------------------------------------------------------- T.H.
