Call For Papers | |||||||||||||
Incentives to minimize the carbon footprint in transportation have been driving an ever-increasing promotion of research on Electric Vehicles (EVs) both at academic and development levels. The effect of EVs on Power Systems is due to their double-role as mobility devices on one hand and a form of substantial distributed energy storage on the other. Numerous challenges as also opportunities can be identified, if this role of EVs is combined in light of massive fleets of them in motion during daytime and stationary at various charging points during daytime and nighttime. The prospect of exploiting EVs as means of realizing Smart Grid applications, paradigms and control is particularly realistic, since they may be controlled and monitored accordingly. This call seeks to address the contribution, effect and prospects of considering fleets of EVs throughout an electric power system and how the impact of their behavior or exploitation may be realized in the best possible way for all involved parties. In particular, the special section will be focusing on (but not limited to) the following topics:
- Grid impact and grid integration of Electric Vehicles; - Grid connection of onboard, off-board, wireless and integrated charging technologies for EVs; - Different charging methods and smart charging of Electric Vehicles - Charging of Electric Vehicles with photovoltaic and wind energy - Energy storage systems for Electric Vehicles and their interactions with smart grids - Aggregate models of Electric Vehicles storage for smart grid application - Vehicle-to-grid and vehicle-to-house algorithms and connections - Energy and power management techniques for charging of Electric Vehicles in smart grids - Electricity Price, Time of Use Tariffs, Quality of Service and Social Welfare of Electric Vehicles in smart grid - Enviromental benefits of Electric Vehicles for smart grid - Operation of public Electric Vechicles (buses, taxies, etc.) - Novel business model of Electric Vechicles - Joint optimization of transportation and power networks ~~~~~~~~~ Follow the guidelines in “Information for Authors” in the IEEE Transaction on Industrial Informatics http://tii.ieee-ies.org/. Please submit your manuscript in electronic form through Manuscript Central web site: https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/tii. On the submitting page #1 in popup menu of manuscript type, select: SS on Electric Vehicles as Smart Grid Enablers. ~~~~~~~~~ Submissions to this Special Section must represent original material that has been neither submitted to, nor published in, any other journal. Extended versions of papers previously published in conference proceedings may be eligible for consideration if conditions listed in http://tii.ieee-ies.org/o/SubPostConf.pdf are fulfilled.
