Big Data presents myriad possibilities for transforming science, engineering, medicine, healthcare, finance, business and ultimately society itself. However, the volume and variety of data mandates development of new approaches and applications grounded in emerging analytics techniques and emerging processing technologies within the Big Data paradigm. This special issue calls for innovative and high-quality papers describing or demonstrating theory and practice of storing, accessing, searching, mining, processing, and visualizing big data in the context of network computing and applications. All submitted papers must be clearly written in excellent English and contain only original work, which has not been published by or is currently under review for any other journal or conference.
