Call For Papers | |||||||||||
This is the second call for papers for Biomedical Informatics Insights (BII). During the journal’s inaugural years we published nine articles that ranged from a case study about advanced clinical decision support to machine learning methods for prediction of mortality. We have published research about consumer health informatics and statistical analysis of tumors. We have cast a wide net because biomedical informatics is a wide net.
We ask that you submit your original biomedical informatics research to BII. If you do you’ll find that it will be reviewed by your peers within weeks and not months. You’ll find an editorial staff that professionally shepherds you through the open-source publication process and you’ll find that your work will be index in the open access journal system and soon by Pubmed. What are some topics of interest to BII? Integration of bioinformatics and clinical informatics, clinical and biological linguistics, advanced clinical decision support, case studies that described successes and failures of biomedical informatics installation, economic and policy affects of biomedical informatics. Of course there are many more topics both applied and theoretics. What is the advantage to you of publishing in BII? Full open access: everyone can read your article and you retain copyright in it Publishing decision within 2 weeks of submission Your paper will not be rejected due to lack of space and will be published immediately on acceptance Prompt and fair peer review from two expert peer reviewers Frequent updates on your paper’s status Friendly responsive staff What a previous author said: "LA is different, and hopefully represents a kind of scientific publication machinery that removes the hurdles from free flow of scientific thought." In summary: The advantages of a younger journal such as BII are numerous but in essence allow us a greater flexibility and responsiveness to authors and readers that older journals cannot match. Timing and deadlines: Submissions are welcomed at any time. Papers are published on an on-going basis.
