CALL FOR PAPERS
7th Brazilian Symposium on Software Components, Architectures and Reuse - SBCARS 2013 Brasília, Distrito Federal, Brazil September 29th to October 4th, 2013 SBCARS 2013 - http://cbsoft2013.unb.br/sbcars CBSoft 2013 - http://cbsoft2013.unb.br/ IMPORTANT DATES Paper submission - July 01st 2013 Author notification - July 29th 2013 Camera ready - August 05th 2013 KEYNOTE SPEAKERS Krzysztof Czarnecki – University of Waterloo Juha Savolainen - Danfoss Power Electronics A/S PRESENTATION The Brazilian Symposium on Software Components, Architectures and Reuse (SBCARS) is a symposium promoted by Brazilian Computer Society (SBC) that gathers researchers, students and practitioners with a broad range of interests in software engineering related to component-based development, architectures and reuse. Previous editions of the symposium were highlighted by the presentation of high quality technical papers, international invited speakers, and tutorials. SBCARS 2013 intends to continue this tradition by offering a strong technical program, keynote talks by leaders in the field, and invited state-of-art presentations. The last editions of SBCARS have also attracted various contributions of widely-recognized researchers in the area, such as Flavio Oquendo, David Weiss, Dirk Muthig, Paul Clements, Len Bass, Nenad Medvidovic, Klaus Schmid, Charles Krueger, Patrick Hung, Heiko Ludwig, Jaejoon Lee, just to mention a few. In this context, this CFP is looking for high-quality submissions for SBCARS 2013, and invites authors to contribute with technical papers related (but not limited) to the following themes: - Component-based Software Engineering: specification, verification, testing, evolution, certification, and quality, of components of component-based systems - Software Architecture: architecture recovery; architecture description languages; software architecture evaluation; service-oriented architectures - Software Reuse: technical and non-technical issues - Software Product Lines: dynamic SPLs, service-oriented SPLs - Model-driven Engineering - Service-based Development - Aspect-Oriented Software Development - Design Patterns - Software Modularity - Variability Management - Generative Programming and Domain-Specific Languages - Tool support for software components, architectures, and reuse - Experimental Studies (controlled experiments, case studies, systematic reviews) related to software components, architectures, and reuse - Experience reports related to software components, architectures, and reuse CONTEXT SBCARS 2013 is an event part of the 4th Brazilian Conference on Software: Theory and Practice (CBSoft 2013), which will also host three other well-established Brazilian symposia: - 27th Brazilian Symposium on Software Engineering (SBES 2013) - 17th Brazilian Symposium on Programming Languages (SBLP 2013) - 16th Brazilian Symposium on Formal Methods (SBMF 2013) CBSoft and SBCARS 2013 will take place in Brasília, a UNESCO world heritage for its world-wide symbol of modern architecture. As a venue for political events, music performances and movie festivals, Brasília is a cosmopolitan city, with around 119 embassies, a wide range of restaurants and complete infrastructure ready to host any kind of event. Brasília is strategically located in the center of Brazil and its international airport, the third busiest Brazilian airport, serves the metropolitan area with major domestic and international flights. Brasília is also considered one of the main sites of Brazilian ecotourism for its cerrado (Brazilian tropical savanna) hosting one of the major National parks very close to its administrative center. In the surroundings of Brasília, great waterfalls and a breathtaking landscapes are at easy access, including Chapada dos Veadeiros (Veadeiros Plateau) and Pirenópolis, with more than twenty spectacular waterfalls with pristine water. PAPER SUBMISSION Submitted papers can be written in Portuguese or English. Papers written in Portuguese need to be submitted with the title, abstract and keywords written in English. Submissions in English are strongly encouraged since the symposium proceedings will be made available at the IEEE Digital Library. Papers submitted to SBCARS 2013 must not have been simultaneously submitted to any other forum (conference or journal), nor should they have already been published elsewhere. The acceptance of a paper implies that at least one of its authors will register for the event to present it. It is strongly encouraged that authors read papers from previous editions of SBCARS in order to reference related research work published in the symposium, whenever it is applicable. This will motivate and can improve discussions between researchers working in the same area during the symposium. The SBCARS papers published in previous editions are available at the following URL: - http://www.lbd.dcc.ufmg.br/bdbcomp/servlet/PesquisaEvento?evento=sbcars Submitted papers will be reviewed by at least three referees, based on its originality, relevance, technical soundness and clarity of presentation. Papers must be no longer than 10 pages, including figures, tables and references. Submissions must be sent in the Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) format and must follow the IEEE two-column conference format. Templates can be found at: http://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.html (Use only Letter page size format). Papers should be submitted electronically through JEMS system at SBC. BEST PAPERS AND SPECIAL ISSUE The SBCARS 2013 steering committee will award the best papers of the symposium. Following the tradition of previous symposium editions, these papers will be invited to be extended and submitted to a special issue of Journal of Universal Computer Science (JUCS).
