CONTEXT
------------- The Brazilian Symposium on Software Engineering (SBES) is the flagship event on Software Engineering in Brazil. Promoted annually by the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC), the event typically has gathered nearly 500 people, including researchers, students, and practitioners. In its 25th edition, the symposium will be held near to the heart of São Paulo city, at the Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, from September 26 to September 30, 2011. The symposium program includes technical research sessions, invited talks, courses, panels, demonstration of software tools, a PhD and MSc thesis workshop, and several other satellite events. In particular, the technical research track is of very high quality, and very competitive in terms of its paper acceptance rate (usually, lower than 20%). The best papers are invited to submit to a special issue on well-known journals. In this context, this CFP is seeking high-quality submissions for SBES 2011, and invites authors to contribute with technical papers related (but not limited) to: Agent-oriented, aspect-oriented and component-based SE CSCW and SE Experimental SE Industrial applications of SE Methods, techniques, languages and tools for SE Model-driven software development Requirements engineering SE for the World Wide Web Software maintenance Social aspects of SE Software metrics and measurement Software dependability Software processes (including agile methods) Software product lines Software quality and quality models Software reengineering Software reuse Software verification, validation and testing Theoretical foundations of SE and formal methods SBES, CBSoft and the Venue -------------------------------------- SBES is an event of the 2nd Brazilian Conference on Software: Theory and Practice – CBSoft 2011, http://www.each.usp.br/cbsoft2011/ – which will also host three other well-established Brazilan symposia: . 15th Brazilian Symposium on Programming Languages (SBLP) . 14th Brazilian Symposium on Formal Methods (SBMF) . 5th Brazilian Symposium on Components, Software Architecture and Software Reuse (SBCARS) For the first time these symposia will be held in São Paulo - SP, a city of prominence in research and development in both academic and industrial fields and which offers great possibilities for cultural, artistic and gastronomic tourism. CBSoft 2011 will be held at the main campus of the Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie. The campus is located in the central region of Sao Paulo, near - for example - the Avenida Paulista, the (Sé) cathedral and the Republic Square. PAPER SUBMISSION --------------------------- Submitted papers can be written in Portuguese or English. Submission in English is strongly encouraged since the symposium proceedings are made available at the IEEE Digital Library. Papers submitted to SBES must not have been simultaneously submitted to any other forum (conference or journal), nor should they have already been published elsewhere. The acceptance of a paper implies that at least one of its authors will register for the symposium to present it. Submitted papers will be reviewed at least by three referees, based on its originality, relevance, technical soundness and clarity of presentation. They must be no longer than 10 pages, including all the figures and references. All submissions must be in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) and must follow the IEEE 2-column conference format available at: http://www.ieee.org/portal/cms_docs/pubs/confpubcenter/pdfs/samplems.pdf Papers should be submitted electronically through the CBSoft conference website. IMPORTANT DATES -------------------------- Paper Submission: April 15, 2011 Author Notification: June 5, 2011 Camera-ready Version due: July 11, 2011 BEST PAPER AWARD --------------------------- Every year the SBES Steering Committee appoints a committee to award the best papers of the symposium. These papers are indicated to a journal special edition and are recognized during the event. Journals that have recently published the SBES best papers include: The Journal of the Brazilian Computer Society (JBCS), Journal of Systems and Software (JSS), IET Software, and Information Systems (INS).
