The theme of the symposium is “Systems Engineering and Innovation”. Topics of interest include, but are not restricted to:
• Innovative systems, e.g., the application of systems engineering or systems thinking to new applications, systems of systems or innovation through the lifecycle. • Innovative applications of Systems Engineering including the application of lean and agile systems engineering. • Enabling system innovations, innovations in terms of tools, methodology and lessons learned for the introducing new enabling systems. • Creating innovative environments for systems engineering (increasing productivity, work place satisfaction). • Educating for innovation and innovation in education covering initiatives to invigorate innovation in systems engineering or activities to innovative education schemes related to systems engineering. Paper submissions shall be made through the EasyChair submission system no later than Monday, December 7th 2009: http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=eusec2010 Papers submitted via e-mail will not be considered! Don't hesitate to contact the paper chairs if you have any questions regarding the use of EasyChair. All submissions must follow the template provided in the template file (downloadable). Some tips and recommendations for paper writing are available on the conference webpage. Evaluation criteria Submissions will be judged on a range of parameters including clarity of expression; effective communication of ideas. In particular the content must advance the knowledge base for, or the practise of, Systems Engineering. Papers must be submitted in English, the official language of the EuSEC 2010 Conference. Papers must describe original work that has not previously been presented at INCOSE International events. All submissions will be reviewed by at least 3 members of the EuSEC review team according to the criteria stated above. Based on the reviews and on the discussion of papers in the program committee, the decision which papers to accept for the conference will be taken. Papers that do not conform to the submission instructions will be rejected without review. The INCOSE Manuscript Template must be used to prepare a close-to-final paper of between 8 and 15 pages (including graphics). The close-to-final paper must be submitted using the Online Submission Form. The Technical chair may contact successful authors with further comments, intended to fit them with the other successful papers into the developing session and track themes. Joint authors must nominate a single point of contact. Accepted papers will be published in the Proceedings of the Conference and in the INCOSE I-pub technical library.
