The 5th IEEE International workshop on Communication, Computing, and Networking in Cyber Physical Systems (CCNCPS 2018)

In association with 20th IEEE International Symposium on a World of Wireless, Mobile and Multimedia Networks (Core Rank A)(IEEE WoWMoM 2019)
June 9 - 12, Washington, DC, USA

After the successful organization of CNCPS with IEEE Globecom 2018, IEEE ICC 2018, ICDCS 2017, and IPCCC 2016, we are pleased to organize the 5th IEEE International workshop on Communication, Computing, and Networking in Cyber Physical Systems (CCNCPS 2019) In association with 20th IEEE International Symposium on a World of Wireless, Mobile and Multimedia Networks (WoWMoM 2019) (Core Rank A) on June 9 - 12 in Washington, DC, USA.

The new paradigms and tremendous advances in computing, communications and control have provided and supported wide range of applications in all domains of life, in particular, bridging the physical components and the cyber space leading to the Cyber Physical Systems (CPS). The notion of CPS is to use recent computing, communication, and control methods to design and operate intelligent and autonomous systems using cutting edge technologies. This requires the use of computing resources for sensing, processing, analysis, predicting, understanding of data, and then communication resources for interaction, intervention, and interface management, and finally provide control for systems so that they can inter-operate, evolve, and run in a stable evidence-based environment. CPS has extraordinary significance for the future of several industrial domains and hence, it is expected that the complexity in CPS will continue to increase due to the integration of cyber components with physical and industrial systems. This workshop solicits unpublished research work related to the latest challenges, technologies, solutions, techniques and fundamentals pertaining to communication, computing, networking, control.

Abstract.

The Pay-with-a-Group-Selfie (PGS) project, funded by the Melinda & Bill Gates Foundation, has developed a micro-payment system that supports everyday small transactions by extending the reach of, rather than substituting, existing payment frameworks. In an effort to embed a digital wallet to the PGS, we analysed the system architecture that will be needed and the requirements drive us to opting for blockchain based architecture. We have presented the applicability of a blockchain as platform in a previous paper. The current paper is presenting the functional requirements, the platforms needed for the development as well as the prototypes of the major interfaces.
