It delivers reliable, useful, leading-edge software development information to keep engineers and managers abreast of rapid technology change. The magazine positions itself between pure research and pure practice, transferring ideas, methods, and experiences among researchers and engineers. Peer-reviewed articles and columns by real-world experts illuminate all aspects of software development, including software requirements, software architecture and design, process improvement, project management, development tools, software maintenance, web applications and opportunities, professional practices, testing, usability, and much more. CALL FOR THEME ISSUES ----------------------- IEEE Software solicits theme issue proposals by guest editors. While anyone can submit a proposal at any time, we are soliciting a Call for Theme issues with the main goal to collect a number of theme issues to be discussed during the next IEEE Software annual board meeting that will held on November 12-13, 2015. We expect at least one guest editor (GE) from industry and one from academia. SUBMISSION and REVIEW PROCESS ------------------------------------ Proposals must be submitted via EasyChair at https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ieeesw2015 by following the guidelines available at https://goo.gl/yQSfHm The Theme Issue chair performs the initial check on the proposal. If a proposal has potential, the theme issue chair submits it to the IEEE Software Editorial and Industrial Advisory board members for evaluation during the IEEE Software Board meeting in Arlington, November 12-13 2015. The board members evaluation will be based on technical accuracy, objectivity, balance, guest editors capability, proposal quality, and relationship to other planned and recent focus sections. Based on the board members comments, the Theme Issue chair decides whether the proposal should be revised, accepted, or rejected. The Lead Editor sets up the schedules for any accepted theme issues.
