The 9th International Seminar on Medical Information Processing and Analysis (formerly International Seminar on Medical Image Processing and Analysis) will be held November 11-14, 2013, in México City (México). As in previous editions, this seminar is the appropriate space to bring together researchers (both students and professionals-mainly related to Applied Research in Medicine) to communicate their results, developments and research experience and to promote the creation of technical and scientific collaboration networks. Previous editions of this event were focused on the field of Medical Images and associated technologies and applications.
This event is addressed to researchers, students and professionals in a wide range of disciplines including Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Biology and Health Sciences. The seminar will include keynote lectures by recognized experts on issues related to acquisition, digitization, visualization, processing, analysis and interpretation of medical information (biomedical signals, clinical data, diagnostic images, etc.). Contributions accepted by the seminar's Program Committee will be presented in oral or poster sessions. In addition, several tutorials related to the topic of the seminar will be offered to the attendees. All accepted papers will be published in the proceedings, under an ISBN reference, on CD-ROM support. Topics submitted papers closely related to Medical Information topics will be considered for presentation. The topic areas are expanded below but the sub-topics list is not exhaustive. Papers may address one or more of the listed sub-topics, although authors should not feel limited by them. Unlisted but related sub-topics are also acceptable, provided they fit in one of the following main topic areas: 1. Brain Imaging: - Acquisition - Multimodal Information Processing and Analysis - Visualization and Interaction - Computer-Aided Detection and Diagnosis - Quantitative Analysis and Interpretation - Multiscale / Multiresolution Representations - Registration of Multimodal Medical Data 2. Imaging for Cancer Therapy: - Visualization and Interaction - Quantitative Analysis and Interpretation-Registration of Multimodal Medical Data – Segmentation – Statistical and Computational Model 3. e-Health: - Telemedicine - Healthcare Information Systems (Multimodal Information Management) - Storage, Transmission and Access to Medical Information - Medical Devices, Monitoring and Calibration – Clinical Applications and Technology Integration - Medical Information Retrieval 4.
