Call For Papers

Every year, the International Conference on Agribusiness Economics and Management brings together scholars working in the exciting field of agribusiness from various parts of the world. Organized by the University of the Philippines Mindanao, the conference provides a venue for scholars to present researches that deal with economic or management issues affecting the entirety or specific nodes within the agri-food chains. This year’s conference theme “Agribusiness for Sustainable Development: Building Synergies and Expanding Horizons” emphasizes how improvements in the agricultural sector can have a huge impact in our efforts to maintain sustainability within the domains of socio-economics, environment, governance, and culture.

The scientific program committee welcomes abstract submissions on general agribusiness, fisheries, crops, and livestock and poultry for presentation at ICAEM2014. Abstracts may cover any topic within the field of agribusiness, either in economics or management, which may fall within these session tracks:


* Environmental policy and resource management
* Technologies for crop and animal improvement
* Farm (crop/animal) and fisheries management
* Supply chain management
* Value chain analysis
* Food security, trade, and agricultural policy
* Consumer and marketing studies
* Agri-product development and innovation
* Agricultural education and extension
* Anthropology of natural resources
* Women in agribusiness

KEYNOTE SPEAKER:

Dr. Arthur Mol is currently chair and professor in environmental policy and director of the School of Social Sciences, Wageningen University, The Netherlands. He is also professor of environmental policy at Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. He studied environmental studies for his masters and received his PhD in sociology from the University of Amsterdam. He is joint editor of the journal Environmental Politics and book series editor of New Horizons in Environmental Politics. His talk will be on “Ecological Modernization and the Developing World.”
