The First International Workshop on Data Mining applications: Bioinfomatics and Medical Informatics aims to explore advanced techniques and applications in the field of Bioinformatics and Medical informatics researches. The workshop will provide an opportunity for researchers to present and disseminate their latest on-going research work and a chance to share their research work with other internationally renowned researchers.
WORKSHOP TOPICS Topics of interest to the workshop include: * Biological data mining and knowledge discovery * Bio-Ontology and Data Mining * High-performance computing as applied to medical sciences * Application of computational intelligence in medicine and biological sciences * Cheminformatics * Computer-based medical systems (automation in medicine, ...) * Biological databases and information retrieval * Bio-molecular & Phylogenetic Databases, Biological data visualization, Biological data integration * Image processing in medicine and biological sciences * Informatics and Statistics in Biopharmaceutical Research * Molecular structure databases, Molecular sequence databases * Sequence analysis and alignment * Medical informatics * Software tools for Bio-Medical Informatics * Biomedical engineering * RNA and DNA structure and sequencing * Protein modeling * Macromolecular structure prediction * Other aspects and applications relating to technological advancements in medicine and biological sciences PAPER SUBMISSION DBMI 09: General Guidelines for Submission of Draft Papers Prospective authors are invited to submit their full paper, before the announced deadline. E-mail submissions in MS document or PDF formats (Formatting Instructions : DOC / PDF) are preferable (postal mail submissions are also fine.). Submit a full paper in English of at most 6 pages according to the IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Manuscripts Style: two columns, single-spaced, including figures and references. The details of the style are at http://www.computer.org/portal/site/cscps/ Notification of acceptance will be sent by e-mail on August 24, 2009 including guidelines for layout and submission of final accepted papers. Accepted papers will be published in full in the conference proceedings. The length of the Camera-Ready papers (if accepted) will be limited to 6 (IEEE style) pages. Papers must not have been previously published or currently submitted for publication elsewhere. Note that as a condition of publication, at least one author of each accepted paper will be required to register for and present the paper at DBMI 2009. The first page of the draft paper should include: ● Title of the paper ● Name, affiliation, postal address, E-mail address, telephone number, and fax number for each author. ● The first page should also identify the name of the Contact Author and a maximum of 5 topical keywords that would best represent the content of the paper. Papers will be evaluated for originality, significance, clarity, impact, and soundness. Each paper will be refereed by two experts in the field who are independent of the conference program committee. Lastly, the Camera-Ready papers will be reviewed by one member of the program committee.
