DSN 2013 will feature a number of coordinated tracks, including the: Dependable Computing and Communication Symposium (DCCS), Performance and Dependability Symposium (PDS), workshops, tutorials, a student forum, and fast abstracts. We invite you to contribute to this premier conference by submitting to the categories below:
Regular Papers: Archival quality high impact research results Practical Experience Reports: In-depth exposition of practitioner experiences Student Forum: Mid-length research ideas presentations by students Panels: Discussions on high interest dependability topics Workshops: Focused discussions on selected topical themes Demonstrations: Describe and demo software, systems, or tools Tutorials: Short courses on dependability relevant topics Fast Abstracts: Brief opinions on recent emerging themes DSN Areas of interest Topics of interest cover the broad range of dependability and security issues from a systems perspective. DSN encourages both theory and experimental themes. An example list being: Architectures Protocols SW and Middleware Applications Assessment, Modelling, Evaluation Testing, Verification and Validation Submission Deadlines (All submission deadlines are hard deadlines at 11:59 PM GMT of the given day) Deadline to Register Mandatory Abstracts (No exceptions): (Regular Papers, Practical Experience Reports, Demos) November 28, 2012 Submission Deadline (No extensions): December 5, 2012 Rebuttal period: February 9-11, 2013 Notification of Acceptance: February 25, 2013 Camera Ready Deadline: April 2013 Workshop Proposals: October 2012 Student Forum Submissions: April 2013 Fast Abstract Submissions: April 2013 Student Forum — Call for Contributions The Student Forum at DSN provides an opportunity for students working in the area of dependable and secure computing to present and discuss their research objectives, approaches, and preliminary results. The Forum offers a place for the presentation and discussion of emerging research ideas. One of the main purposes of the Forum is to provide feedback to the students on their preliminary results that might help with their future research directions. The selected student research papers will be presented at the Student Forum sessions, which will be attended by both fellow students and experienced researchers working in the field of dependable and secure computing, encouraging active discussion. Each paper will be allocated approximately 20 minutes for presentation and discussion. The selected student research papers will be published in the DSN-2013 supplementary volume. Questions or comments about the Student Forum should be directed to: elias@inf.ufpr.br Submission Guidelines Student research papers should have a student as the single author. The paper should describe the topic, preliminary results, and future direction of the student’s on-going research. The student must commit to present the paper at the conference. Papers submitted to the Forum should be at most 4 pages in length and must be formatted using standard two-column IEEE format.
