Prof. Dr. Dürrin Alpakın Martinez-Caro Contact email: bnc2016@metu.edu.tr “23rd METU British Novelists Conference: Agatha Christie and Her Work” is a two-day conference organized by the Department of Foreign Language Education, Middle East Technical University, October 27-28, 2016. We invite proposals for 20-minute presentations on any aspect of Agatha Christie’s life and work. We encourage submissions from a variety of disciplines, theoretical perspectives and genres. Comparative approaches focusing on the work of Agatha Christie within contexts such as media, performance and adaptation studies are also welcome. Possible themes include, but are by no means limited to: -- Genre studies and crime fiction -- Agatha Christie and non-fiction (autobiography, travel writing, etc.) -- Agatha Christie in the Turkish context -- Agatha Christie and world literature -- Agatha Christie and feminism -- Agatha Christie and translation studies -- Theatre, film, radio, TV adaptations of Christie’s fiction -- Agatha Christie’s influence on other crime fiction writers -- Teaching Christie’s fiction Please email an abstract of 250 words with 4-5 keywords and a short academic bio to bnc2016@metu.edu.tr by 1st July, 2016.
