The 21st METU British Novelists Conference: The Brontë Sisters and Their Work

Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey – 12-13 December 2013

Deadline for Proposals: 6 September 2013

“The Brontë Sisters and Their Work” is the theme for this year’s METU British Novelists Conference organized by the Department of Foreign Language Education in Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey. The organizers invite proposals for 20-minute presentations on any aspect of the work of Charlotte, Emily and Anne Brontë. Interdisciplinary and comparative approaches placing the work of the Brontë Sisters within contexts such as media, performance and adaptation studies are also welcome. Selected papers will be published in the conference proceedings.

The keynote speaker is Prof. Diane Long Hoeveler, editor of the forthcoming Blackwell volume, A Companion to the Brontës (2014).

Please send abstracts of about 250 words to metubnc@metu.edu.tr by 6 September 2013. Please include your name, institutional affiliation and contact information in your submission.
