BISFAI13 - CALL FOR PAPERS
2013 Bar-Ilan Symposium on the Foundations of Artificial Intelligence Wednesday-Friday, June 19-21, 2013 Bar-Ilan University Ramat Gan, Israel http://www.cs.biu.ac.il/bisfai13/ The 12th Bar-Ilan Symposium on the Foundations of Artificial Intelligence (BISFAI) will be held Wednesday-Friday, June 19-21, 2013, at Bar-Ilan University, Ramat Gan, Israel. BISFAI is a biennial regional artificial intelligence symposium - the largest AI event in the Middle East! It is a warm, friendly event, with very high-quality talks. The official language of the symposium is English. The symposium is held in cooperation with the Israel Association for Artificial Intelligence (IAAI). The main part of BISFAI will have technical sessions which include talks by several invited speakers and regular talks by participants. We call for papers on substantial novel research in all areas of theoretical and applied Artificial Intelligence and related areas, including, but not limited to: * AI algorithms and knowledge representation * AI foundations and automated reasoning * Computational linguistics and natural language processing * Information retrieval * Text mining and data mining * Intelligent agents * Knowledge-based systems * Machine learning * AI planning and search * Robotics and multi-robot systems * Probabilistic reasoning * Temporal reasoning * Constraint Satisfaction Keynote Speakers BISFAI-13 will host the following (partial list of) invited plenary speakers: • Prof. Barbara Grosz, Harvard University • Prof. Gal Kaminka, Bar-Ilan University • Prof. Jeffrey Rosenschein, Hebrew University Submission Guidelines Submissions should be made electronically, on the BISFAI submission page, at: https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=bisfai13 Paper submission: Friday May 10, 2013 Paper notification: Friday May 31, 2013 Final version due: Friday June 7, 2013 Multiple Submissions policy BISFAI is not an archival conference, and has no printed proceedings. Submissions that are currently under review elsewhere, or accepted in top conferences, are permitted. If the paper has been accepted elsewhere, or is under review, please note this (and provide the name of the venue) on the submission form. Submissions will be selected for oral presentation during BISFAI by the program chairs to represent as much as possible the quality and heterogeneity of research conducted within the Israeli AI community and their collaborators from abroad. Students that have papers accepted for the top AI conferences are strongly encouraged to also submit their work to BISFAI so as to have the opportunity to present their work beforehand. The authors of all submissions will have the opportunity to present a poster during the poster session. In addition, submissions that are intended only for the poster session (and the authors do not wish to give an oral presentation) are also welcome, but this should be specified on the submission form. Special Issue Authors of a subset of BISFAI papers may be invited to submit their papers for potential publication in the journal: Annals of Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence (AMAI). The accepted papers will undergo the regular reviewing process of the journal. If a paper is accepted at an archival conference such as AAAI, IJCAI, AAMAS, or ICAPS and also presented at BISFAI, the paper submitted to AMAI must be substantially revised and/or extended for consideration for journal publication. Symposium Website The BISFAI-13 program, schedule and registration information will be available online at the BISFAI website: http://www.cs.biu.ac.il/bisfai13, along with abstracts of invited and accepted papers.
