Call For Papers

The ninth annual IEEE International Conference on Automation Science and
Engineering (IEEE CASE 2013), sponsored by the IEEE Robotics and Automation
Society (RAS), will be held from August 17 to 21, 2013, in Madison, WI, USA.
IEEE CASE represents the flagship automation conference of the IEEE RAS and
constitutes the primary forum for cross-industry, multidisciplinary research in
automation. The goal of the conference is to provide a broad coverage and
dissemination of foundational research in automation among researchers,
academics, and practitioners.

The technical program of IEEE CASE will consist of workshops, invited talks,
posters, paper and abstract presentations. Both papers and presentations describing
original work on abstractions, algorithms, theories, methodologies, and case studies
are invited. First time this year, the IEEE CASE will accept both full papers and
presentation abstracts. The accepted full papers will be published in the conference
proceedings.

The theme of the conference is Automation in Practice. The topics include but are
not limited to: Foundations of Automation; Agriculture; Life Sciences and Health
Care; Automation in Meso, Micro and Nano-scale; Manufacturing Automation;
Discrete Event Systems; Scheduling and Optimization; Mechatronics; Industrial
Informatics; Sustainable Production; Logistics and Supply Chain Management;
Networked and Control Systems; Power and Energy Systems; Smart Buildings; and
Emerging Topics in Automation. Detailed instructions for the preparation and
submission can be found at conference website: www.case2013.org.

IEEE CASE is an offspring of the journal IEEE Transactions on Automation Science
and Engineering (www.ieee.org/t-ase). High quality CASE papers will be
recommended for publication in the Transactions.

Conference Venue: The conference will be held in the spectacular Madison
Concourse Hotel and Governor’s Club, Madison, WI, situated in downtown
Madison, next to the State Capitol, State Street, University of Wisconsin campus,
