Autonomous agents are software entities that are capable of independent action in open, unpredictable environments. Agent technologies include models, frameworks, platforms, methodologies and tools for developing agent systems. Agents and multi-agent systems are currently applied in diverse domains that require complex problem solving.
This special issue will focus on, broadly understood, software agent technologies connected to applications and prototypes in areas like: e-business, e-learning, e-government, e-health, social networks, risk management, planning, distributed computing, scientific problem solving, simulation, optimization, games etc. The aim is to collect innovative works on multi-agent systems methodologies, tools and applications. The contributions should be original, innovative, high-quality papers reporting on models, technologies or systems that have been or are being implemented. Topics of interest include (but are not limited to): - Models and architectures for agent systems - Negotiation, learning and planning in multi-agent systems - Agent development techniques, tools and environments - Agent oriented software design and methodology - Agent based development of distributed applications - Agent based resource and service discovery - Agents in the Semantic Web - Multi-agent systems for modeling and simulation - Applications of software agents in e-business, e-learning, e-government, disaster management etc. - Software agents in computing, optimization, games etc. Special Issue Editors: Viorel Negru, West University of Timisoara, Romania Daniela Zaharie, West University of Timisoara, Romania All correspondence should be addressed to Dr. Viorel Negru: vnegru_at_info_dot_uvt_dot_ro (replace _at_ with @ and _dot_ with .) Papers must to be prepared according to the journal format.
