Call For Papers | |||||||||||||||
One of the salient features of the future Internet will be the pervasive presence of smart objects, blurring the distinction between computing and everyday “things”. This will transform the way we live, impacting our work, leisure and social activities. The excitement generated by this vision is accompanied by a set of interesting challenges that will need to be overcome to bring about its full benefits: Data generated in ever larger scale, from heterogeneous sources and in different formats; efficient communication between smart objects; low energy associated with smart objects; infrastructure for management and analytics of large data sets and streams; applications for exploiting the IoT technology etc.
The I-SOCA workshop aims at providing a forum for discussion and sharing of research promoting all aspects of the IoT solutions and advancements. Original research papers are invited on all aspects related to the Internet of Things, from smart objects and cloud infrastructure to IoT applications. Practical implementation, deployment and management solutions from industrial contributors are also of interest. ------------------------------------------------------------- Topics Topics include, but are not limited to, the following: Smart Objects *Smart Devices *Energy management for Low Power Networks *M2M Communication *Data Aggregation and Filtering Mechanisms *Sensing, Data Acquisition and Querying *Service, Process and Information Models *Wireless Sensor Networks *RFID Technology *Middleware and Architectures *Emerging Technological Developments in Data Communication *Advances in performance measurement and management of the Internet of Things Cloud *Virtualization of resources and services *Management of cloud computing infrastructures *Efficient Management of IaaS, PaaS, SaaS offerings *Dyanamic Cloud performance monitoring *Data storage and management *Big Data: Analytics as a Service *Data Mining *Machine Learning *Data Visualisation IoT applications: *Surveillance *Health Monitoring *Assisted Living *Smart Cities *Environment Monitoring *Crowd Management *Smart Technologies for Infrastructure and Buildings *Critical Infrastructure Monitoring *Smart Transportation ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Important Dates Submission Deadline: 31 July 2015 Authors Notification: 15 August 2015 Camera-ready Paper Due: 15 September 2015 Registration Due: 15 September 2015 Conference Date: 26-28 October 2015 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Paper submission guidelines All papers need to be submitted electronically through the workshop website (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=isoca2015) in PDF format. The materials presented in the papers should not be published or under submission elsewhere. Each paper is limited to 6 pages including figures and references using IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Manuscripts style (two columns, single-spaced, size 10 font). You can confirm the IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Author Guidelines at the following web page: http://www.computer.org/web/cs-cps/ All accepted papers will be included into the IEEE conference proceedings published by IEEE Computer Society Press (indexed by EI). Submitting a paper to the workshop means that if the paper is accepted, at least one author should attend the workshop to present the paper. For no-show authors, their papers will be removed from the digital library after the conference and their affiliations will receive a notification.
