We are pleased to announce a call for papers for the interdisciplinary research colloquium “Energy Turnaround Runs Aground? Advances in Research on Acceptance of Energy and Resource Technologies”, as part of this year’s Freiberg Research Forum to be held in Freiberg, Germany, on 13th June 2013.

The colloquium will focus on:
(1) a critical discussion of social acceptance challenges faced by energy and resource technologies,
(2) understanding what drives and influences social acceptance and support for both emerging and matured energy and resource technologies,
(3) insights into factors determining the success of communication measures, and
(4) understanding how different stakeholders in the context of energy generation and distribution can be effectively engaged.

We invite researchers, policy and industry decision-makers, as well as other stakeholders in the energy and natural resource value chain to submit a paper proposal for this colloquium to present their current research projects and contribute to an interdisciplinary, open, and innovative exchange of ideas, concepts, methods and empirical findings.

Research in the fields of acceptance of energy and resource technologies, technological assessment, affective rationality, attitudes and emotions, judgment and decision-making, public opinion, communication and social media are highly welcome.
