Call for Poster Presentations
First IEEE Workshop on Computer Vision for Humanoid Robots in Real Environments in conjunction with ICCV 2009 September 27, 2009, Kyoto, Japan Objectives The goal of this workshop is to bring together experts from the fields of computer vision and robotics that are working on humanoid robots with vision as one of the primary modalities. Topics of interest include and are not limited to: * Human Robot Interaction * Grasping and Manipulation * Learning by Demonstration * Task Learning for Robots * Activity Recognition and Discovery for Robot * Humanoid Navigation in Real Environments * Vision Devices and Systems for Robot Applications * Application of Humanoid Robots (Indoor/Outdoor, Entertainment) Researchers from the robotics community are particularly encouraged to attend. This is the first attempt at a workshop that crosses from Humanoids Research to Computer Vision Research. Workshop Format The workshop will consist of about six invited talks as well as open poster presentations by the attendees. Every attendee is invited to bring a poster describing the work to facilitate open discussions among the attendees. Those who plan to present a poster are recommended to send the title and presenter’s name, affiliation and email address to Dr. Katsu Yamane (kyamane@disneyresearch.com) by August 31, 2009. This information will be used only to estimate the number of posters and there is no review process for the workshop. The poster format will be posted on the workshop website in early September.
