Theme
“Media Research: Yesterday, today, and tomorrow”

The 8th Conference of the Media Psychology Division (German Psychological Society) will take place on September 4th to 6th, 2013 at Julius-Maximilians University Würzburg, Germany, chaired by Prof. Dr. Frank Schwab. The division as well as the local department of media psychology and the Institute for Human - Computer - Media cordially invite you to come to Würzburg.

Theme
The theme of the conference is “Media Research: Yesterday, today and tomorrow“. By suggesting a broad theme, we aim at inviting reseachers with wide interests in theoretical and research development in diverse areas of media research to foster exchange with other subfields in psychology and with neighbouring disciplines. By only giving a motto we emphasize that contributions from all areas of media psychology are welcome.

• Workshop for PhD students: We are pleased that the conference will be preceded by a Workshop for PhD students of Media Psychology, organised by Prof. Dr. Nicole Krämer. The workshop will take place on the day before the conference (September 3rd). A maximum of 12 doctoral students will be accepted. The application deadline is May 15 (the Website-URL for further information will be announced, soon).
Conference language
The conference will again be held in English. We thus invite not only German media psychologists but also European and other international colleagues to contribute. If a session is visited exclusively by a German speaking audience, the presenter is allowed to skip to German.

Types of contributions:
• position and review papers (extended abstract of 1000 words each)
• research papers (300 word abstract including results)
• posters (300 word abstract)
• panel session proposals (300 word rationale for the panel proposal and
150 word abstract from each planned
presenter)
Each author may submit and present only one contribution as first author; additional contributions as co-author are welcome.

Timeline:
• March 1st 2013: Online submission system opens
• April 1st 2013: Submission deadline
• June 1st 2013: Deadline for informing authors about acceptance
