FUSION OF SMART, MULTIMEDIA and COMPUTER GAMING TECHNOLOGY: RESEARCH, SYSTEMS and PERSPECTIVES
(an edited book by Springer-Verlag) CALL FOR CHAPTERS GOAL ===== A new edited chapter book entitled "Fusion of Smart, Multimedia and Computer Gaming Technology: Research, Systems and Perspectives” is planned to be published by Springer-Verlag (Germany) in 2014 as a volume of the book series “Intelligent Systems Reference Library” http://www.springer.com/series/8578 The proposed edited chapter book is aimed at presentation of innovative ideas, concepts, approaches, technologies, tools, systems, findings and outcomes of research and design&development projects, trends and perspectives in emerging area – a fusion of smart, rich multimedia, computer gaming (serious games, gamification) and security technology. MAIN TOPICS of this chapter book include but are not limited to: ================================================== 1. Advances in integration of smart, rich multimedia, and computer gaming technology - Fusion of smart technology and computer gaming (serious games, gamification) technology - Fusion of smart and rich multimedia technology - Fusion of smart and mobile technology - Fusion of smart, multimedia, mobile and computer gaming technology and software/Web/hardware/network security - Research projects, best practices and case studies of integrated smart, multimedia and computer gaming technology applications 2. Advanced integrated applications of smart technology, rich multimedia, and computer gaming technology - Smart technology-based software/hardware tools, applications and systems - Advanced applications of smart technology and intelligent systems, multimedia technology and serious games (gamification) in design, engineering, business, management, administration, education, training, and research - Smart technology-based classroom (i.e. innovative applications of smart technology in a classroom) - Smart technology and intelligent systems for worker/learner/user modeling - Smart university (i.e. university-wide smart software/hardware systems for teaching, learning, management, collaboration, security, assessment, etc.) - Smart technology-based society (concepts, features, infrastructure) - Workforce skills for smart technology-based systems and services 3. Currents trends and perspectives of smart technology, rich multimedia, and computer gaming technology - National and international research and design&development projects on smart technology and its applications - Perspectives of smart technology, smart systems, smart universities, smart cities and smart society - Standards and policies in smart technology-based education, research, management, administration REQUIREMENTS TO MANUSCRIPTS and FORMATTING RULES ================================================== All submitted chapters should contain unpublished content. Proposals will be rigorously peer-reviewed to evaluate innovativeness, originality, quality, relevance to the book’s main topic, as well as the clarity of writing, chapter’s organization, list of references used, and attractiveness to readers. The manuscript length is limited by 20 pages. The format of chapter proposal and the final manuscript must adhere with Springer book series guidelines and template, which are available at http://www.springer.com/series/8578 TENTATIVE TIMETABLE =================== - December 15, 2013 – 2-3 page long proposal is due (please email it to Lakhmi.jain@unisa.edu.au ) - December 30, 2013 – notification of acceptance/rejection - February 15, 2014 – full (up to 20 pages) chapter proposal is - March 15, 2014 - notification about results of peer review - May 1, 2014 – revised (enhanced) chapter proposal is due - June 1, 2014 - notification of the editors’ final decision - June 15, 2014 - camera-ready version of chapter is due - 4th quarter of the year 2014 - book publication INITIAL PROPOSAL ================ Interested contributors are invited to submit a 2-3 page long proposal to Lakhmi.jain@unisa.edu.au by December 15, 2013. The proposal should contain the following items: 1) title of a proposed chapter; 2) authors’ profile (names, affiliations, Email, corresponding author); 3) abstract (up to 250 words); 4) a brief well-structured description of a proposed chapter; 5) a list of references used (at least 10 but no greater than 20 references published since 2010 to date in the JCR journals, books, and chapter books; try to avoid references to proceedings).
