Call For Papers

Scope

The 9th International ICST Conference on Testbeds and Research Infrastructures for the Development of Networks and Communities will be held in Guangzhou, China, 5-7 of May 2014, with the vision to bring together technical experts and researchers from academia, industry and government from all around the world to discuss experimental research infrastructures of the Future Internet.
Topics

Prospective authors are invited to submit high quality papers reporting results on activities related to the establishment of the research experimental infrastructures of the Future Internet. In particular, the focus of the conference is on experimentation such as testing, verification, deployment, integration, management and federation of testbed facilities as well as experimentation oriented research based on implementation of novel schemes on research testbeds, including, but not limited to:

- Wired and wireless testbeds

- Ubiquitous network and sensor testbeds

- Monitoring in large scale testbeds

- Experimental facilities for large scale testbeds

- Large scale testbed federation

- Global connection and cooperation of heterogeneous testbeds

- Testbed and experimental equipment

- Next Generation Internet testbeds

- Next Generation optical network testbeds

- Testbed operation & management

- Innovative measurements methodologies & tools

- Testbed virtualization

- GRID, P2P and overlay testbeds

- Smart home and converged communication and multimedia services testbeds

- Configurable hardware/software platforms for testbeds

- Testbed tools for interoperability and benchmarking


Workshop/Tutorial/Demo proposals

Proposals for workshop/tutorial tracks are solicited. Potential organizers are welcome to submit proposals to the respective Chairs.

A proposal to organize a workshop should include the following information: (1) the title of the workshop, (2) name, affiliation and contact details of the organizer, (3) an abstract of no more than one page describing the aims of the workshop and the motivation for holding it and participating to it (target audience), (4) a workshop chair and a tentative list of participants / speakers, (5) the expected duration of the workshop. Workshop sessions are expected to last 90-120 minutes, but a workshop may comprise multiple sessions.


Paper Submission

Papers should be no more than 10000 words or 10 pages in length. Submissions will be reviewed anonymously by at least 3 reviewers.

Papers will be judged on originality, correctness, clarity and relevance. Submitted papers must be original work, and may not be under consideration for another conference or journal. Complete formatting and submission instructions can be found on the conference web site.

Submission of the paper implies agreement of the author(s) to attend the conference and present the paper if accepted.


Publication

Accepted papers will be published in the Testbeds and Research Infrastructures for the Development of Networks and Communities and by Springer-Verlag in the Lecture Notes of ICST (LNICST). The proceedings will be available both in book form and via the SpringerLink digital library, which is one of the largest digital libraries online and covers a variety of scientific disciplines. LNICST volumes are submitted for inclusion to leading indexing services, including EI Engineering Index, DBLP, Google Scholar, ACM Digital Library, ISI Proceedings,CrossRef, Scopus and Zentralblatt Math, as well as ICST's own EU Digital Library (EUDL)

Camera-ready deadline: 7th March, 2014 


Highlights:

Accepted papers after presentation and extension will be recommended for publication in some SCI/SCIE journals [e.g., ACM/Springer Mobile Networks & Applications (http://link.springer.com/journal/11036].
