Call For Papers

Lappeenranta University of Technology together with I-Space Institute (USA) and Aalto University invite you to take part in the 1st InnoSim Workshop – Simulation for Innovation – which takes place in Helsinki, Finland on March 24-26, 2013.

The two-day program will include: distinguished keynote speakers, research paper presentations and "Hot Topic" discussions as well as interaction with practitioners via poster sessions.

The workshop is designed to provide an open forum for the presentation of the latest tools, results and trends in modeling and simulation of innovation and new product development (NPD) processes. This workshop is organized as part of a TEKES-funded project – there will be no conference fees for participants (please take care of your own travel and hotel costs).

Submissions from academic, research, industry and policy organizations are encouraged and should focus on the following topics:

 Modeling and simulation of Innovation and NPD Processes
 Management decision support models
 Simulations of open innovation
 Simulations of Innovation Systems
 Modeling of Entrepreneurship and Innovation strategies
 Other management and business processes related simulations

We are welcoming both complete and "work in progress" research papers.

Important deadlines:

Abstract submission: January 31st, 2013 (500 words, please email justyna.dabrowska@lut.fi)
Acceptance notification: February, 6th, 2013
Registration and full paper submission: March 11th, 2013 (up to 5,000 words excl. references to justyna.dabrowska@lut.fi)
Slides submission: March 18th, 2013

Authors of the best papers will be invited to present the simulation models at the Practitioner Conference on the second day (March 26th, 2013), which will be held for a wider audience of business practitioners, private and public organizations, large and medium sized enterprises. All presenters will have an opportunity to demonstrate their models via poster sessions at the Practitioner Conference. It will be an opportunity to showcase your simulation tools and models to practitioners, discuss the results and receive feedback from a company's perspective.

Tentative Program:

Pre-workshop networking meeting: March 24th, 2013, at 18:00
Workshop research paper presentations and Hot Topic discussion sessions: March 25th, 2013
