======================================================================================================= Thematic Issue: Ambient and Smart Component Technologies for Human Centric Computing Journal of Ambient Intelligence and Smart Environments (JAISE) an IOS Press Journal http://www.jaise-journal.org/?q=content/thematic-issue-ambient-and-smart-component-technologies-human-centric-computing Indexed by Scopus; JCR; ACM Digital Lybrary; DBLP; SciSearch®; Ulrich's Periodicals; SCIE JAISE indexed in JCR with I.F. of 1.5 ======================================================================================================= Due to advanced development of ambient and smart IT technologies, the external environment surrounding individual or organization is gradually changing to intelligent space. In ambient and smart environment, the system, which is embedded in a certain object, conducts an autonomous recognition of user context, and could provide a personalized service to user. Ambient and smart business application and service is not an entirely new concept, but an evolved or expanded electronic business concept, which refers to the activities that create new values utilizing ambient and smart IT technology to improve existing business operations or design a new business model. These ambient and smart business application and service are partially similar to electronic system and service, but unlike the passive form of them, appropriate business activities and services in work spaces are performed autonomously according to the various context that organization process face. To realize ambient and smart business application and service, the various wireless network component technologies and application technologies such as sensing user’s context technology, converting and formatting context information technology, data packing technology for transmission of the recognized context information, adaptive network technology for intelligent nodes, network transmission and processing technology for a large amount of data, autonomous constructing technology for small size of network zone, and user activity based security technology, are necessary. Therefore the main motivation for this thematic issue is to bring together researchers and practitioners working on related fields in ambient and smart technologies and its applications to present current research issues and advances. The aim of this thematic issue is to provide a platform for the discussion of the major research challenges and achievements on various topics of interest. Bellow some specific relevant topics to be considered, but not exclusively are: - Automatic adaptation to the user and environment - Performance analysis and comparison of human-computer interaction systems - Context modeling and processing - Cyber-physical systems for human-centric applications - User profiling and personalization - Sensor fusion for human interfaces - Vision-based interfaces and applications - Audio, speech recognition and synthesis - Multimodal interfaces - Interactive machine learning - Multi-agent systems and social simulation - Virtual reality and augmented reality - Detection and support for collaboration - Privacy, security and trust management for HC - Smart-object based interaction - Persuasive computing and tangible interactions - New trends in HC (mobile, ubiquitous & tangible computing) Submission Process ------------------ Papers should be of 12 pages or longer and adhere to the guidelines given on the submission webpage: http://www.mstracker.com/submit1.php?jc=jaise. When submitting, authors should highlight in the cover letter that the submission is for this particular Thematic Issue. Prospective authors are encouraged to contact the special issue editors in advance, indicating their interest and a tentative title of the paper.
