Description: On the view that reason is not the only guide of judicial reasoning, this workshop invites contributions on the role of emotions in adjudication and/or on ‘tragic dilemmas’ in adjudication, on the combined development of “the heart and the head” via literary works, i.e. empathy and the legal imagination, on the representation of emotion in law in other cultural artifacts, including aspects of mediality in, and visuality of law (both from the cultural-legal perspective and the practical, i.e. in the courtroom).
