The 4th International Symposium on Internet of Ubiquitous and Pervasive Things (IUPT 2014)
http://cs.adelaide.edu.au/~iupt2014/ To be held in conjunction with Ambient Systems, Networks and Technologies Conference (ANT 2014) June 2-5, 2014, Hasselt, Belgium This symposium aims at gathering researchers from the fields of wireless networking and Internet applications to discuss new opportunities and to leverage the possibilities of new applications and services for the Internet of Ubiquitous and Pervasive Things. The new developments in this area raise important research questions including interaction, security, collaboration, context, discovery, and privacy of physical things in the virtual world. Despite the tremendous progress in Internet technologies, the research community continues to wrestle with some of these questions. This symposium focuses on disseminating novel ideas and research directions in this fast emerging area of the Internet of Things. This symposium also aims to bring together academics and practitioners in an effort to highlight the state-of-the-art and discuss the issues and opportunities to explore new research directions and develop new ideas for the Internet of Things. The symposium will be the platform to provide opportunities for researchers from academia and industry to join hands, exchange ideas and focus on solutions that will enhance the life of the growing population on the Internet. It will lead to identifying new directions and setting the scope for developments in this area. The participants will be enlightened with intellectual discussions, highlighting the advances in technology that bridges the physical world and the digital world. The 4th International Symposium on Internet of Ubiquitous and Pervasive Things (IUPT 2014) will take place in conjunction with the 5th International Conference on Ambient Systems, Networks and Technologies (ANT 2014), June 2 - 5, Hasselt, Belgium. ***Topics of Interest*** Specific topics of interest include (but not limited to): * Communication systems and architectures for the Internet of Things * Robustness of environmental management with the Internet of Things * Web of Things * Smart Objects * Green Internet of Things * Semantic Web of Things * Future technologies bridging the physical and virtual worlds * Business models and processes for the Internet of Things * Impacts on the security, privacy and risks on the physical world * Applications and interaction for social networking * Location and discovery of things on the Internet * Case studies in areas of Healthcare, Agriculture, Logistics and Transport * Mobile Internet of Things * Internet of Services * Sensor Webs ***Paper Submission*** All papers accepted will be included in the ANT-2014 proceedings to be published by Elsevier. The authors must follow Elsevier guidelines as given in ANT-2014 website. The number of pages for symposium papers is limited to 6 pages. The selective outstanding papers presented at the workshops, after further revision, will be considered for publication in special issues of leading international journals. All accepted papers will be printed in the conference proceedings published by Elsevier Science in the open-access Procedia Computer Science series on-line. Procedia Computer Sciences is hosted on www.Elsevier.com and on Elsevier content platform ScienceDirect, and will be freely available worldwide. All papers in Procedia will also be indexed by Thomson Reuters' Conference Proceeding Citation Index. The papers will contain linked references, XML versions and citable DOI numbers. You will be able to provide a hyperlink to all delegates and direct your conference website visitors to your proceedings.
