Call For Papers

The Communications Students Local Organizing Committee at Maltepe University is delighted to announce the opening of the call for papers for the ‘Young at Art’ undergraduate students conference to be held at Maltepe University in İstanbul, on March 14-15, 2013.

We welcome submission for individual papers and panel proposals that should be addressing, but not limited to
• How do you define a person educated in the field of art? Student? Artist or Designer?
• The Relationship between Education of Art and Its Professional Field
• Globalization and Its Effects on Art
• Art and Ideology
• Newly Emerging Topics In the Future of Art and Design
• Creation Process, Its Problems and Proposals

Abstracts can be submitted via e-mail to ifasc@maltepe.edu.tr by 1 January 2013 and contain a clear outline of theoretical framework, the theme or the work in discussion.

The text of abstracts should be submitted in English ONLY, in a separate Word document in the following format: max. 300-400 words, 1.5 line spaced Arial (Plain) 11-point font (except for title which should be 14-point font), A4 size page formatting, with the page margins of 2.5 cm from the left, top and bottom and 2 cm from the right. The panels should not exceed four people and four different abstracts (200 words long), and should be prepared by each member of that specific panel.
We encourage lecturers, teachers and professors to circulate this call widely across your undergraduate students, as this will be a unique occasion to visit the city of Istanbul. Participating students will be joining fellow students from Turkey and across the world to debate the raising issues in the area of fine arts in a conference organized by students for students, with the support of staff at Maltepe University’s Faculty of Fine Arts.

28 February 2013 Deadline for submission of full papers
14- 15 March 2013 IFASC 2013 Congress

PS. There is NO Registration Fee. Participants attending the conference will be hosted by the Maltepe University at Marma Congress Centre (www.marmakongremerkezi.com). Expenses other than travel expenses will be provided by Maltepe University! Attendees, who prefer the Turkish Airlines (TYH) for travelling, will have a discount!
