3rd Workshop on Semantic Personalized Information Management: Linking Social and Semantic Web (SPIM 2012)
in conjunction with ICWE, July 23-27, 2012, Berlin, Germany OBJECTIVES -------------------- Following the success of SPIM2010 and SPIM2011, we are pleased to announce the 3rd Workshop on Semantic Personalized Information Management: Linking Social and Semantic Web in conjunction with ICWE 2012. The workshop focuses especially on people that are working on the social or semantic Web, machine learning, user modeling, recommender systems, information retrieval, semantic interaction, or their combination. The goal is to bring together researchers and practitioners to initiating discussions on the different requirements and challenges coming with the social and semantic Web for personalized information retrieval systems. The workshop aims at improving the exchange of ideas between the different research communities and practitioners involved in the research on semantic personalized information management. The list below provides the topics of interest of this workshop. TOPICS -------------------- - Knowledge Modeling and Engineering - Ontology-based user modeling and user model aggregation - Exploiting Linked Open Data for Personalized Information Management - Applications for SPIM - Systems that create, exploit, and evaluate semantic technologies for improving PIM - Semantic search: information retrieval, extraction and filtering - Personalized search: ranking integration, privacy issues, novelty and serendipity - Semantic and context-aware recommendation systems - Social networks and their analysis - Opining mining and social Web - Personalized interaction in mobile, ubiquitous and context-aware computing - Use of semantic technologies in HCI - Hybridizing Semantic Web and machine learning techniques for PIM - New personalization algorithms for large semantic data sets SUBMISSION AND PUBLICATION -------------------- We welcome work at all stages of development: papers can describe applied systems, empirical results or theoretically grounded positions. Submissions must adhere to the Springer LNCS format and be made through the EasyChair conference system. Full papers: 10-12 pages. Original mature research Short papers: 6-8 pages. Original ongoing research Posters: 4 pages. Original ongoing research or research ideas of visual nature Accepted papers will be published online in a volume of the CEUR workshop proceedings. Revised papers will be published as post proceedings in the Springer LNCS. KEYNOTE SPEAKER -------------------- Prof. Andreas Nürnberger of the Data & Knowledge Engineering Group of the University of Magdeburg will give a talk about “Adaptivity and Context in Information Retrieval Systems”.
