Ambient Assisted Living: Technologies and Applications

"Ambient Assisted Living: Technologies and Applications" will be a handbook for researchers and technical professionals from a wide variety of related fields who need to refresh their knowledge of the recent state of the art and acquire a well-balanced in-depth and broad know-how of Ambient Assisted Living technologies and applications.

This book will cover all major technologies used in the field, including but not limited to smart homes, environmental and wearable sensors, visual monitoring, person-environment interaction, networks, robotics and standards and interoperability. On the other hand, Ambient Assisted Living applications are important also to healthcare professionals and caregivers. In this part, the book will go through tele-care and tele-health, as well as gait analysis, fall detection, prediction and management of chronic conditions, indoor and outdoor mobility and well-being and social interaction among others.

In this sense, this book is motivated by the need of joining this significant amount of scientific fields that are emerging from and coming together in Ambient Assisted Living. It will provide a way of precise and direct initiation in the field, as well as offer a general overview of the state of the art.

First deadline (Feb 15, 2015): Title, 500-word abstract, number of pages, and full list of authors and contact details.
Second deadline (Oct 1, 2015): Complete chapter of up to 20 pages including references following the IET format guidelines that will be given to the authors.
Submission should be made by email addressed to the editors.
