Special Section on Discrete Mathematics and Its Applications submitted by September 26th, 2016, published in September, 2017 The IEICE Transactions on Fundamentals of Electronics, Communications and Computer Sciences announces a forthcoming Special Section on Discrete Mathematics and Its Applications to be published in September, 2017. The objective of the special section is to review and promote recent progress in the field of discrete mathematics and its applications. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: - algorithms, data structures, and computational complexity - graphs, networks, and matroids - combinatorial optimization - parallel and distributed algorithms - discrete geometry, computational geometry, and computational algebra - coding theory and mathematical foundations of cryptography - probabilistic and number theoretic algorithms - linear programming and mathematical programming - computational biology and bioinformatics - Petri nets and concurrent systems - applications of discrete mathematics - algorithm engineering - quantum computation, quantum algorithm, and quantum cryptography Submission Guidelines: Authors are requested to submit papers and electronic source files through the IEICE online submission web site (https://review.ieice.org/regist/regist_baseinfo_e.aspx) by September 26th, 2016. Choose the “[Special-DM] Discrete Mathematics and Its Applications" as a “Journal/Section" on the online submission page. Do not choose “[Regular-EA] Fundamentals" or other special sections. Inquiries: Takashi Horiyama (Guest Editor) Graduate School of Science and Engineering Saitama University 255 Shimo-Okubo, Sakura, Saitama 338-8570, Japan e-mail: horiyama@al.ics.saitama-u.ac.jp phone: +81-48-858-3957 fax: +81-48-858-3957 Authors must agree to the "Copyright Transfer and Page Charge Agreement" via electronic submission. Manuscripts should be prepared according to the style guidelines for the IEICE Transactions (See http://www.ieice.org/eng/shiori/mokuji_ess.html). In this special section, the preferred length of the manuscript is no longer than eight pages for a PAPER and two pages for a LETTER. The term for revision after the review process might be shortened, although it is usually 60 days' long. At least one of the authors must be an IEICE member when the manuscript is submitted for review. Please note that if accepted, authors are requested to pay for the page charges covering partial costs of publications. Editorial Board: Guest Editor-in-Chief: Takashi Horiyama (Saitama Univ.)
