The summer school, hosted by the VSB Technical University of Ostrava (Czech Republic), will bring together leading experts in the fields of soft computing, computational intelligence, and data mining and young researchers, postdocs, postgraduate and graduate students, and interested audience. The summer school will also welcome senior researchers interested in soft computing and computational intelligence and the possibilities to exploit it in their own fields of research. One of the main aims of the summer school will be to provide a friendly platform for interdisciplinary networking among the participants. The summer school will be presented by a distinguished group of expert lecturers from academia and industry who will lead a variety of courses on topics related to soft computing, computational intelligence, data mining, and its applications. The majority of the tutors will be present during the whole duration of the school to interact and collaborate with the students. The Cybernetics Summer School is intended to spread the latest trends and best practices in the design and development of intelligent applications for large scale data mining and processing. The summer school will provide a rich program consisting of both introductory and advanced formal sessions and enjoyable informal social activities. The electronic copy of all course lectures will be presented to participants. This year's Cybernetics Summer School will be co-located with a number of related conferences including the International Conference on Genetic and Evolutionary Computing and International Conference on Innovations in Bio-Inspired Computing and Applications. This will offer to the students a great opportunity to attend conferences and workshops in the same venue directly after the school ends. Applications are submitted by filling the Application Form available at the address http://dap.vsb.cz/css2013/application.html REGISTRATION FEE The attendance fee will be 500 EUR. It will cover admission to all lectures and courses, accommodation for the entire period of the summer school in the students' residence of the VSB Technical University of Ostrava, three meals per day, coffee breaks, course materials, and the social event. The registration will also include free access to IBICA 2013 plenary and technical sessions, social event, and free stay for one extra night for those attending IBICA 2013. It will not, however, replace IBICA author registration.
