Wireless Communication and Sensor Networks (WCSN) are among the most advance technologies which has significant impact on the society in last decades. Wireless Sensor and Actor Networks (WSAN) not only influence the world by their pervasive presence in the remotest locations but also permits distributed monitoring and control with the advantage of developments in the area of Wireless Communication, Embedded Processors, Semantic Web as well as Smart Surroundings. Development of wireless communication technologies, devices and sensor network has reached a certain point that would allow the creation of large and pervasive services with reliable approach.
The augmentation in power aware designs and availability of adequate wireless channel bandwidths enable to build large and sustainable systems that would benefit the society. It has already created a profound environment that has influenced a large number of areas in the society such as health, agriculture, environment monitoring, industrial monitoring, structural monitoring, real time tracking and many others. Although there are several areas where WSN is being used, but there are many areas where further investigation still needed. There are major challenges in field of developing intelligent, distributive, collaborative and multimodal networks with significant size that would sense and act in wide areas in an unattended and reliable manner. The Eighth International WCSN Conference is organized by Indian Institute of Information Technology- Allahabad, India in collaboration with Naresuan University, Phitsanulok, Thailand to expedite the information exchange in regard to the development of technologies, applications and experiences with focus on large deployable applications. The themes of the conference are as under, but are not limited to: 1. Wireless Communications 2. Wireless Sensor Networks 3. Sustainable Pervasive WSAN Applications 4. Devices, Tools and Techniques Relevant to Wireless Sensor Networks |
