Call For Papers

HIKM is held annually in conjunction with the Australasian Computer Science Week (ACSW); the premier event for Computer Science researchers across Australasia. ACSW is attended by many national and international delegates comprising academics, industry representatives and HDR students.
HIKM has been a leading forum for academic research in the area of digital health in the Pacific Australasian region for over a decade. Submission of papers presenting original unpublished work is now open. Accepted papers will be published with ACM Press. Papers should address current research topics that include, but are not limited to:
Data science and analytics for healthcare
• big data analytics, health analytics, knowledge discovery, data mining and visualization
• health information management
• health workflow management
• interoperability protocols, terminologies, and ontologies
• standards for healthcare computing and health data
• collections and registries, data linkage and integration

Cyber-security in healthcare
• health data governance
• privacy/security issues on healthcare
• public and population large and big dataset predictive analytics and surveillance
• blockchain in healthcare

Use and integration of computing in healthcare
• biomedical devices and systems
• biotechnology and bioinformatics
• clinical and healthcare decision support systems
• conceptual models and architectures health information systems
• consumer information systems
• design and implementation for new models of care
• electronic health records and systems
• health informatics education
• mobile platforms and BYOD in healthcare
• mobile applications for health monitoring
• online and web interventions in healthcare
• sensors and internet of things for healthcare
• social media in health care
• telemedicine and remote healthcare services

Submission and Publication:
HIKM calls for four types of submissions. All submissions must be in English and PDF format. Other formats will not be accepted. Papers will be double-blind peer reviewed by at least two expert reviewers for originality, significance, and relevance to the conference.
• Poster/5 Minute Lightning Talk. Authors of posters will be invited to present a 5 minute talk at HIKM/ACSW and prepare a poster. Submit via the ACSW Poster submission portal http://www.acsw.org.au/
• Doctoral Consortium Extended Abstract. 700 word (excluding references) abstracts. Authors of accepted DC abstracts will be invited to present a 10 minute talk at HIKM for specific feedback on their doctoral proposals. Abstracts will not be published in ACSW proceedings
• Short papers. Submissions should be 4 pages long. Short papers will be published in ACSW Proceedings by ACM Press
• Full papers. Submissions must not exceed 10 pages. Full papers will be published in ACSW Proceedings by ACM Press
