SEGAMED 2012 CONFERENCE "Serious Games in Medicine and Healthcare"
Call for proposals Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry and Sports Science from the University Nice-Sophia Antipolis are organizing on October 5-6, 2012 the first conference exclusively related to the "serious games" in medicine and more generally to the field of Health in region Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur. Under the aegis of the French-speaking Virtual Medical University (UMVF) and French-speaking Digital University of Health Sciences and Sport (UNF3S), with sponsorship from the French Association of Medical Informatics (AIM),the Fondation Sophia Antipolis and Telecom Valley (Sophia-Antipolis), this conference takes place when many questions arise about the role of simulation tools for learning and teaching, such as those concerning the design, development, dissemination and evaluation of such tools. Given the recent actions of "initiatives for future", time seemed appropriate to give some answers. The agenda of these two days is designed to allow time for both academic research and contact with professional and software editors who will present their products and/or projets. Registration fees have been set in order to open the event to a wide audience and to better know these methods and simulation tools virtual digital. Whether you are a teacher, student, researcher, working for the pharmaceutical industry, game editor, institutional decision-maker, or just interested, these first days will be an opportunity to observe, listen, share, evaluate. A call for papers is open until 31 July 2012. The official language of the conference is French, but english papers are also accepted. No translation will be provide. A specific track will be dedicated to english presentations. You can submit one page abstract or a 5 pages article. The steering committee of this symposium wish to prioritize feedback, position papers, conceptual studies, experiments, and the contacts between project owners and editors. Various national and international experts will also provide their testimony. Topics will focus on: - Profession (medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, midwifery, sports science); - Discipline (medicine, surgery, emergency resuscitation);- - Users (student, teacher, healthcare professional, patient, caregiver); - Purpose (learning, teaching, demonstration, information); - Methods (scenario editor, ergonomics, gaming concepts); - Issues (reuse, reapplication, indexing, realism and reality). The proposals are due to the SEGAMED 2012 General Chairs by July 30, 2012 via the online submission tool available at the following address: https://www.easychair.org/account/signin.cgi?conf=segamed2012 The proposals will be reviewed by the SEGAMED Scientific Committee members.
