CALL FOR PAPERS
ETSD 2012 Emerging Technologies for Smart Devices December 3-7, 2012, Anaheim, CA (USA) http://etsd.it.ubi.pt/ Workshop held in conjuction with IEEE GLOBECOM 2012 Smart devices, such as smart phones and Pad devices, are penetrating to our daily life. How the technologies for these devices evolve will affect how people live in the future. The objective of this workshop is to provide single forum for researchers and technologists to discuss the state-of-the-art, present their contributions, and set future directions in emerging technologies for smart devices. We welcome technical papers presenting analytical research, simulations, practical results, position papers addressing the pros and cons of specific proposals, and papers addressing the key problems and solutions. The topics suggested by the conference can be discussed in term of concepts, state of the art, standards, deployments, implementations, running experiments and applications. Topics of interest: Authors are invited to submit complete unpublished papers, which are not under review in any other conference or journal, including, but are not limited to, the following: areas: • New communication paradigm for smart devices • User experience and usability with smart devices • Performance and robustness • Utilization of multiple access networks • Distributed/ubiquitous computing with smart devices • Mobile cloud • Algorithms and protocols for smart devices • Optimization for smart devices • Device monitoring and management • Social and life enhancement with smart devices • Mobile services and applications (m-health, mlearning, m-government, etc.) • Security aspects for smart devices • Economic aspects Important Dates Paper Submission: 1 June 2012 Paper Acceptance: 15 August 2012 Camera-Ready: 15 September 2012 Submission guidelines: All submissions must be full papers in PDF format and uploaded on EDAS (https://edas.info/newPaper.php?c=12435).
