------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Workshop on Smart Environments for Gerontechnology and e-Therapy (SE4GT'16) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1st-3rd June, 2016 – Sevilla, Spain Under the framework of ISAmI'16 http://www.isami-conference.net/workshops/se4gt SPECIAL ISSUES --------------------------- Selected papers of SE4GT'16 will be invited to be extended for two Special Issues at: - Journal of Sensors - Impact Factor 1.182 - Computational Intelligence and Neuroscience - Impact Factor 0.596 SCOPE --------------------------- Gerontechnology is an interdisciplinary field combining gerontology and technology. Sustainability of an ageing society depends upon our effectiveness in creating systems, coping with assistive technology and inclusive design, for innovative and independent living and social participation of older adults in good health, comfort and safety. Gerontechnology aims at matching systems to health, housing, mobility, communication, leisure and work of the elderly. E-therapy is a new modality of helping people resolve life and relationship issues. It utilizes the power and convenience of the Internet to allow simultaneous and time- delayed communication between an individual and a professional. E-therapy is generally not considered a complete substitute for face-to-face sessions; however, it provides immediate assistance where help is not close by or when in-person visits are not possible. The development of smart environments for gerontechnology and e-therapy has turned into a challenging activity requiring disciplines as different as artificial intelligence, human computer interaction, engineering and communication to work together in order to provide solutions able to satisfy this growing demand of the society. The stakeholders must be able to create systems that are as intelligent as to detect falls or emotions, as usable as to be exploited by people with mobility problems, and as reliable and autonomous as to monitor health and mobility. TOPICS --------------------------- Topics relevant for the workshop include specially applications, but also theoretical approaches, based on, but not limited to: - Smart environments in support of e-Healthcare. - Smart environments in health. - Telehealth and telemedicine. - Wearable communication devices. - Lifelong learning for health. - Rehabilitation technologies. - Assistive technologies and devices. - Emotion / affect / mood recognition and regulation. - Personalised ambient adaptation. - Social / care robots and agents. - Sensors and actuators. - Novel architectures and infrastructures. - Case studies. SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS --------------------------- We are looking forward to receiving contributions from anyone interested in participating and presenting their work at this workshop. We are accepting the following type of submission:*Regular Paper.* It must consist of original, relevant and previously unpublished sound research results related to any of the topics of the conference. It may be accepted as a Long paper, a Short paper or a Poster. Papers should be written in English. All papers must have a maximum of 8 (eight) pages.
