First International Workshop on Cloud Computing for Forensics use – IWCCF 2012 –
October 3-5, 2012, St. Petersburg, Russia co-located with International Congress on Ultra Modern Telecommunications and Control Systems (ICUMT 2012) Call for papers At the moment Cloud Computing is an important model to transfer applications, data and services. The Companies, Government and private people are using cloud for lot of services (ex: backup, storage, etc). This has led to the very quick development of new cyber threats and a lot of information security issues which are exploited by cyber criminals for fraud or for malicious use. The digital investigations could be an important problem because the procedure and techniques for acquiring information could be different from classical investigations. For these reasons this workshop is used to describe and find the cloud computing applications for Forensics use. In particular the idea is to use the cloud for specific applications concerning the digital forensics and investigations. Topics of interests include, but are not limited to: • manage the digital investigations; • manage digital evidences and manage the files (ex: dd, ISO, dump, etc); • arrange and schedule the timing / milestone; • rebuild the log files; • rebuild and recovery the file in the cloud file system; • manage the law in the Cloud Forensics; • eDiscovery and Litigation; • store the files for forensics use; • Digital forensics tools and applications • Digital forensics case studies and best practices • Digital forensics for Government and Military • Network Investigations Chairman • Prof. Antonio Mauro, PhD – University of Northwest, NY, USA (email: info@antoniomauro.it) List of Program Committee members • Sergio Staro, Postal and Communication Service of the National Police (Polizia di Stato), Italy • Gianluigi Me, University of Tor Vergata, Italy • Bruce Nikkel, IT Investigation & Forensics Group Security Services UBS AG, Switzerland • Raoul Chiesa, Principal, CyberDefcon, UK • Pierluigi Perri, University of Milan, Italy • Ilya Sachkov, Group-IB - Cyber Crime Investigations, Russian • Michele Colajanni, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy • Daniele Catteddu, Cloud Security Alliance, United Kingdom • Tom Hall, Think Secure, Netherlands • Mauro Vignati, Federal Departement of Defence DDPS, MELANI, Switzerland • Marco Mattiucci, Arma dei Carabinieri (Military Police Force), Scientific Investigations Department – Chief of the High Tech Crime Unit, Italy • Stefano Mele, Carnelutti Law Firm Associate, Italy • Simone Tacconi, Postal and Communication Service of the National Police (Polizia di Stato), Chief of Digital Forensics Unit, Italy Papers will be accepted based on peer review (3 per paper) and should contain original, high quality work.
