***********************************************************************************
We apologize if you received multiple copies of this Call for Participation Please feel free to distribute it to those who might be interested *********************************************************************************** *** CALL FOR PARTICIPATION *** OnTheMove 2012 Federated Conferences, Workshops and Academy (OTM 2012) 10-14 Sept 2012, Roma, Italy http://www.onthemove-conferences.org Proceedings published by Springer LNCS *********************************************************************************** ABOUT OTM 2012 ---------------------------------- As before this 11th edition of OnTheMove (OTM 2012) co-locates three successful interrelated and complementary conferences that together attempt to span a relevant range of research and development, from fundamental technology to enterprise application. They are DOA-SVI'12 = secure virtual infrastructures in distributed object architectures in particular for cloud computing, ODBASE'12 = meaning of (linked) data as needed for databases and methodologies, CoopIS'12 = applications of distributed and collaborative computing in workflows of networked organizations. Each conference covers multiple research vectors, viz. theory (e.g. underlying formalisms), conceptual level (e.g. technical designs and conceptual solutions) and applications (e.g. case studies and industrial best practices). All three federated conferences share the rigorous scientific study of the distributed, conceptual and ubiquitous aspects of modern computing systems, and share the resulting technology- and application-pull created by the WWW. As they must, these subject areas overlap in interesting and occasionally fascinating ways, and in fact the organizers specifically welcome submissions in any of the areas that also emphasize the envisaged impact on or from relevant issues in the others. To stimulate this "cross-pollination", we offer a shared program of famous and representative keynote speakers, as well as a parallel program consisting of a number of highly topical workshops covering emerging related areas. We therefore continuously encourage new workshop proposals (contact: Pilar Herrero, Workshop Chair, pherrero@fi.upm.es ) For 2012 we have chosen several interrelated themes, to be covered explicitly by the respective component conferences: * Cloud Computing Infrastructures * The Internet of Things, or Cyberphysical Systems * Business Process Modelling in the Networked Enterprise * Semantic Web and Social Computing for the Enterprise We especially draw attention to the OTM Academy, our redefined and comprehensive program for PhD students. They benefit from a thorough interactive critique of their PhD project as well as a published contribution in our LNCS workshop proceedings. Furthermore, there is the ICSP, our new Industry Case Studies Program, in which successful submitters use OnTheMove as the forum for presenting cutting-edge applications of distributed computing, receiving analysis and critique by the attending scientific community.
