Call for papers for a special issue of
INFORMATION FUSION An International Journal on Multi-Sensor, Multi-Source Information Fusion An Elsevier Publication On “Collaborative Wireless Sensor Networks: Architectures, Algorithms and Applications” Editor-in-Chief: Dr. Belur V. Dasarathy, FIEEE Belurd@gmail.com http://belur.no-ip.com The Information Fusion Journal is planning a special issue on Collaborative Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). WSNs are collections of tiny devices capable of sensing, computation and wireless communication operating in domain-specific environments to monitor and control events of interest in a distributed manner and collectively react to critical situations. WSN applications span various domains such as environmental and building monitoring and surveillance, pollution monitoring, agriculture, health care, home-automation, energy management, earthquake and eruption monitoring. Notably, through collaboration WSNs can organize efficiently, prolong system lifetime, handle dynamics, detect and correct errors, all with the final goal of eventually executing reliably single or multiple user applications. This special issue specifically focuses on exploring recent advances in architectures, algorithms, and applications for collaborative WSNs to make WSN-based applications more reliable, intelligent, effective and easy-to-use in academic- and industry-related scenarios. Manuscripts (which should be original and not previously published either in full or in part or presented even in a more or less similar form at any other forum) covering methods, architectures, algorithms and applications for collaborative wireless sensor networks are invited. Absolutely no cut and pastes from prior publications (of text and/or figures or tables or other illustrations) will be permitted. All such reproduced material should be excluded by generous use of citations to the relevant prior publications wherever necessary within the text of the Journal submission. The manuscript will be judged solely on the basis of new contributions excluding the contributions made in earlier publications. Contributions should be described in sufficient detail to be reproducible on the basis of the material presented in the paper and the references cited therein. Topics appropriate for this special issue include, but are not necessarily limited to: WSN architectures, protocols, and algorithms; Localization in WSNs, including algorithms and techniques for sensor localization and tracking; Data management in WSNs, including distributed storage, distributed processing, query, manipulation, data fusion, and data mining; Credibility management in WSNs, including credibility model, certification and evaluation; Cooperative signal and information processing in WSNs; Collaboration between WSNs and other systems; Collaborative Body Sensor Networks; WSN applications. Manuscripts should be submitted electronically online at http://ees.elsevier.com/inffus The corresponding author will have to create a user profile if one has not been established before at Elsevier. The Guest Editor(s) for this proposed special issue are: Guest Editor(s) Dr. Mert Bal, Miami University (USA), balm@muohio.edu Prof. Giancarlo Fortino, University of Calabria (Italy), g.fortino@unical.it Prof. Wenfeng Li, Wuhan University of Technology (China), liwf@whut.edu.cn Dr. Weiming Shen, National Research Council (Canada), weiming.shen@nrc.gc.ca Deadline for Submission: May 31, 2012 |
