Call For Papers

New Deadline for 2 page Position Papers: 08/09/15 23.00 BST

This MPRMAR workshop will explore the emerging methods for capturing the accuracy of mixed and augmented reality systems. The workshop will address, measures of visual realism, interaction quality and perception, mixed reality QoE, observer QoE and the general problems associated with quantifying perceptual quality from a first person to third person.

This workshop will appeal to researchers and developers wishing to analyse and build mixed reality and augmented reality systems by providing a forum for discussion, advancement and interdisciplinary investigation of the tools and measures for ensuring the optimal perceptual experience.

The workshop will be a platform to promote new methods, ideas and standards for quantifying perceptual realism in both mixed and augmented reality. The MPRMAR workshop aims to draw from multiple disciplines, with an aim to promote standards in perceptual realism, with methods and techniques from the image, video and audio processing fields and showing how these can help to quantify the perceptual quality of mixed and augmented reality.

This workshop will be an opportunity to discuss and present position papers promoting new directions in measuring realism for Mixed and Augmented Reality.

To present a "Position paper", please submit a 2 page position paper to the MPRMAR easychair submission(available here ismar.vgtc.org/ismar/2015/info/call-participation/submission-guidelines#Othersl).

Position papers will be reviewed by the workshop organizers for content and subject relevance. On acceptance, position papers will be available on the workshop website and will be presented as short 5-10 minute demos/presentations with an aim to enthuse the workshop delegates and aid idea generation.

The submission deadline for position papers is September 8th 2015 23.00 BST.
EasyChair paper submission available here: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=mprmar1.

Topics for both position papers.

As the concept of this workshop is to look at the methods for measuring mixed and augmented reality both as objective measurements of the system and also as Quality of Experience (QoE) measurements, we invite submissions on, but not limited to, the following topics:

• Standards in Mixed Reality measurement.
• Measuring Human Errors in Interactive systems
• Quantifying Viewer Quality of Experience (QoE)
• Evaluation and Performance Measures for Mixed Reality
• Measuring Human Perception of video, audio and mixed reality
• Human Perceptual Tolerances for Interaction
• Improving and adaptation of Mixed and Augmented reality via perceptual methods
