- - - - - - - - DaMiC 2012 - The International Workshop on Data Analytics and Mining in the Cloud (http://damic.reading.ac.uk) In conjunction with the 4th IEEE International Conference on Cloud Computing Technology and Science (IEEE CloudCom 2012, http://2012.cloudcom.org) Taipei, Taiwan, December 3-6, 2012 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Important Dates --------------- Paper Submissions: August 20, 2012 (extended) Notification: September 10, 2012 Camera ready: September 28, 2012 Workshop date: December 3-6, 2012 Workshop Description -------------------- The Workshop intends to provide an opportunity to researchers and practitioners to present and discuss current research directions and open issues in adopting Data Mining and Predictive Analytics tools in Cloud Computing. The Workshop intends to facilitate the exchange of ideas between two main research communities, Cloud Computing and Data Mining. It also intends to attract scientists from other disciplines like Mathematics, Biology, Neuroscience, etc., which ultimately benefit from mining their data in the Cloud. Papers describing original research on both theoretical and practical aspects of Data Analytics and Mining in the Cloud are solicited. Topics include, but are not limited to: • Predictive Analytics in Cloud Computing, Data Mining workflows in Cloud Computing, Data mining tools as SaaS and PaaS • Integration of Predictive Models in Cloud environments, e.g., the Predictive Model Markup Language (PMML); • Integration of tools for data mining and business intelligence • Distributed and Parallel Data Mining • Mining Big Data, Hadoop, MapReduce • Fault-tolerant Data Mining • Online Learning on Data Streams • Data security and privacy issues in Cloud Computing • Predictive Analytics and Data Mining supporting Configuration, Management and Monitoring of Cloud Computing infrastructures, Distributed Systems, Federated Databases and Large-Scale Networked Applications We also welcome submissions on reports of Data Mining applications based on Cloud Computing of particular interest.
