The International Conference on Bioinformatics (InCoB) is the official conference of the Asia-Pacific Bioinformatics Network (APBioNet). The main objective of InCoB is to provide a platform for experts and budding bioinformaticians to discuss and exchange ideas and thoughts on the development of bioinformatics in the Asia Pacific region. Beginning in 2002, InCoB has grown to become one of the largest bioinformatics conferences in the Asia-Pacific region. This annual conference showcases the latest research and technologies in all areas of bioinformatics and is attended by practitioners from both biology and computing backgrounds in the Asia-Pacific region.
In recognition that it has been ten years since the inception of InCoB in Bangkok in 2002, InCoB2012 will be hosted again by Thailand during 3-5 October 2012 at the newly renovated world-class Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok, Thailand. The main hosts are NSTDA, the umbrella organization overseeing the previous hosts of InCoB2002, BIOTEC and NECTEC, as well as KMUTT, one of nine National Research Universities in Thailand and an education pioneer in the field of Systems Biology and Bioinformatics. The theme for InCoB2012 will be “From Biological Data to Knowledge to Technological Breakthroughs”. Thus, the conference aims to promote the advancement of bioinformatics and computational biology and encourage the exchange of scientific breakthrough amongst participants. InCoB2012 will include the latest bioinformatics and related topics on agroinformatics, population genetics, drug design and discovery, systems biology, biological sequence analysis, expression data analysis, scalable data storage and other related subjects. There will be pre-conference tutorials, special sessions, panel discussions, competitions, and technical visits to the Thailand Science Park, the country's leading integrated R&D hub, home to NSTDA, as well as to the newly opened Biopharmaceutical cGMP Pilot Plant at KMUTT. Besides InCoB2012, the 3rd International Conference on Computational Systems Biology and Bioinformatics (CSBio2012) and the 3rd Winter Conference of the International Neural Networks Society (INNS-WC2012) are jointly hosted by BIOTEC and KMUTT at the same time period and venue. We invite you to submit your research to InCoB2012 in the form of: * full papers original research, not submitted for publication elsewhere, for oral presentation and publication in BMC Genomics, BMC Bioinformatics, Systems and Synthetic Biology, Journal of Immunological Methods, or ScienceAsia. * abstracts for (A) Poster Sessions and (B) Technology, Tool, Methodology, Resource, Database, or Software Demonstrations/Posters. * late-breaking abstracts for short oral presentations. * breakout session proposals for organizing a thematic session on an emerging topic. Session organizers may invite presenters to submit journal articles post-conference. |
