Computational Advances in Bioinformatics (CAB 2012)
Special Session in the 19th International Conference on Neural Information Processing (ICONIP2012) November 12-15, 2012, Doha, Qatar Full paper submission deadline extended to July 1, 2012 OVERVIEW Bioinformatics is a computational science that is inherently multidisciplinary as a combination of biology, computer science, and information technology. With the recent developments in high-throughput technologies such as next generation DNA sequencing and DNA microarray, a seemingly never-ending amount of data is being generated on a continual basis. As the nature of the data becomes ever larger and more complex, it is necessary to develop more efficient algorithms and computational methods to deal with this enormous challenge. The ICONIP2012 special session on "Computational Advances in Bioinformatics" (CAB 2012) aims to bring together experts and researchers from the multidisciplinary field of bioinformatics to discuss the latest advances in the computational aspect of bioinformatics. TOPICS Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: Molecular evolution and phylogeny Functional genomics Proteomics Metabolomics and other omics Structural bioinformatics Gene expression and microarray analyses Biomarker discovery Disease classification Parallel and grid computing for bioinformatics Bio-image and signal analysis Medical and biomedical informatics Adaptive computation in bioinformatics Translational bioinformatics SUBMISSION All special session submissions are to follow the Springer LNCS format with a limit of eight (8) A4 format pages. More information on paper submission can be found at the ICONIP2012 website at http://www.iconip2012.org/submission.htm. Please select the category of "Computational Advances in Bioinformatics" during the paper submission process. Accepted papers will be able to be published in the ICONIP2012 proceedings as a Springer LNCS volume. Extended version of selected papers may be invited for publication in special issues of international journals. |
