The 15th Asia-Pacific Web Conference (APWeb 2013)
4-6 April, 2013, Sydney, Australia APWeb is a leading international conference on research, development and applications of Web technologies, database systems, information management and software engineering, with a focus on the Asia-Pacific region. This is the first time APWeb is to be held in Oceania. Participants to APWeb 2013 (4-6 Apr) may also attend ICDE 2013 (8-12 Apr) and/or PAKDD 2013 (14-17 Apr), all to be held in Australia. APWeb 2013 will host three keynote talks from international experts on data management, information retrieval, and database theory. The keynote speakers are: * Prof. H.V. Jagadish, University of Michigan, USA * Prof. Mark Sanderson, RMIT University, Australia * Prof. Dan Suciu, University of Washington, USA A Best Paper Award and a Best Student Paper Award will be given to the best paper and student paper selected from accepted paper. APWeb 2013 includes but is not limited to the following areas: * Advanced application of databases * Content management * Data caching * Data mining and knowledge discovery * Data and information quality Control * Data migration and integration * Deep Web * Digital libraries * Distributed and parallel systems * Grid computing * Emerging Web techniques * Information retrieval * Mobile computing and data management * Multidimensional databases and OLAP * Multimedia systems * Parallel and distributed database systems * Peer-to-peer systems * Performance and benchmarking * Query processing and optimization * Semantic web and web ontology * Security, privacy and trust * Sensor networks * Service-oriented computing * Spatial and temporal databases * Stream data processing * Storage and data access methods * Web community analysis * Web search and mining * Web services * Workflow and E-services * XML and semi-structured data management ***PAPER SUBMISSION*** APWeb 2013 invites papers describing original contributions in all fields of Web Management and WWW related research and applications. All submissions should be in English. Submission of a paper should be regarded as an undertaking that, should the paper be accepted, at least one author will attend the conference to present the work. Paper submission will be electronic through the APWeb12 Web site (https://cmt.research.microsoft.com/APWEB2013). Papers should be submitted in LNCS (Lecture Notes in Computer Science) format (style files are available at LNCS Authors Instructions) as PDF files and should not exceed 12 pages. Abstract due: October 20, 2012 Full paper due: October 20, 2012 Acceptance notification: December 26, 2012 Camera-ready copy: January 8, 2013 A special issue on the World Wide Web Journal will be dedicated to selected papers of APWeb 2013. ***AWARDS*** The following awards will be presented at the conference: Best Paper and Best Student Paper. For a paper to qualify for the Best Student Paper award, a student must be the lead author. ***WORKSHOP, PANELS, TUTORIALS, INDUSTRY PRESENTATIONS*** In addition to technical contributions, APWeb13 invites proposals for workshops, panels, tutorials, industry presentations.
